    I too find that hashtag offensive. If you feel the need to express your sexual orientation in every post can I suggest you use terms that don't cause needless offense? Maybe #NotGayDespiteMyUsername or just straight up #homophobe if you want to keep it short and to the point.

    @JohnDoesNot it's not specifically the #nohomo tag that bothers me. The word 'homo' is used exclusively as a derogatory term but @IamGay6969's rant further compounds the issue by wanting to clarify that he/she is not actually gay as suggested by their handle. The effect is to make the post read like they are homophobic and that being gay (or not) needs to be justified. It's that sentiment I find abhorrent. Sure, what offends me might not offend you and we shouldn't be too careful about offending an individual but as a community we devRanters should agree that no single group of peoples should be insulted so casually.

    @g-m-f I think we can do without it and I agree with you. It’s certainly a very unnecessary tag that is extremely childish at best and like you said can be offensive. But yeah, this should be a warning and in the future we’ll delete rants that have it. It really does nothing to add to the community and is pretty lame in general.
