Any under 18 developers here? If yes, what language do you use to code, and where do you plan to go?

    HTML+CSS+JS, python
    at school / short introduction:
    Java, Brainfuck, Lua

    @BambuSource damn, brain fuck I am python 2.7 or 3.5, learning more of deep learning stuff, anyways, cool
  • 4
  • 5
    Currently using Rust, but used to do js, Ruby, Python, Java, ...
  • 7
    I'm 16.
    I use a lot of languages, but my main one is Python.
  • 3
    @Michelle what's ur niche in python tho? Like deep learning or web backend or something else
  • 3
    @rik61072
    For now, it's backend. It might change tho.

    Python 3.x (and html if it counts)
    I'll be learning Lua and one of the C languages soon
    Probably uni then I'll work my way up to a well-paying dev job (back-end probably)

    @jazzydevill I am a pythonist too. So whaddya like to work with in python
  • 3
    15
    I mostly use Java/Python. And C# for school.. cause my school doesn't have Java installed.. a few others but those are the main langs.
  • 2
    @nik123 I think u should try developing a kernel from scratch and then make an OS. Idk
  • 2
    @nik123 daaaamn fam. That was cool, school here in India is tough so I got very lil time to learn it. Anyways cool man
  • 4
    17 here !
    Using mostly HTML/CSS + a bit of JS, python for backend (Django!) And Kotlin for Android dev (my favorite)
  • 2
    @millido we both are on the same train where are u from?
  • 2
    @millido I am from India, nice to meet ya
  • 4
    @nik123 Wrote an small OS with a few others. It was a horrible mess which took about half an year for us to "complete". It works there is the possibility to write small shell scripts and you can connect to the internet, but it completely crashes if you have a \r byte in any file which it reads. Oh well.. After a while we stopped programming to collect more experience before we continued since we didn't found any way to fix a lot of issues.
  • 2
    @romangraef woah. That is a lot. I am planning to go low level
  • 1
    @Tahaga Aww may god i love kotlin too! I'll [have|take|.*?] an internship at a company in a half year which uses Kotlin so i started learning it and I'm totally hyped.
  • 2
    @rik61072 we were 4 and later 5 and splitted the work. The internet thingy had the most problems but at least the response may contain \r bytes...
  • 1
    @romangraef yeah I was wondering that, but did u guys write everything from scratch?
  • 2
    @rik61072 In the beginning we copy+pasted a lot and it was more like a "it works on my machine" thing, but in the end we had more own code which lead to having more errors. not really what you would call an *functional* os. but we didn't had any libs or something (i don't even know if there are libs for such low level stuff)

    Times New Roman
  • 3
    @heeMan That's the first decent joke anyone has done with my name :) all the others were like (just noticed they only work out in german so) "Roher Mann" oder "Roman" as in books.
  • 2
    @romangraef Man you're so lucky! I firmly believe Kotlin is the future of java, seeing the real life application of it will be a great experience for sure!
  • 3
    Mainly Python and JS😎
  • 2
    @sslPoodle Hahahaha
  • 2
    Mostly combination of C# and PHP, but if required (and no other solution is possible) Java and JavaScript
  • 2
    Python and learning C++

    I am planning on going in to a robotics related Field

    I do web design / development for fun.

    JavaScript, Java, php, C, C++, Go, Python, C# and Swift.

    Currently leaning Bash and Assembly.

    I don't know where I'm going, but I'm doing multiple freelancing jobs in the meantime.

    15 y.o.
    Python, C#.
    Either research or software development.
  • 2
    15, I use Java and Kotlin.
    Started coding when I was 12-13.

    17:
    Used to write Minecraft shit in Java when I was little.
    Now I do web stuff with phone, HTML, CSS, is. Getting into node and frameworks.
    For school: c#
    Planning to go to a uni, where they won't teach me jack shit that's useful, only obsolete crap.
  • 3
    @romangraef Román in Hungarian means Romanian(basically Gypsy), so it is a widely used insult.
  • 4
    Pretty sure long lived people here know me.

    I am 15yo (14yo actually when i go to another country, korea age sucks 5o calculate).

    I learn mostly C# to do stuff with WPF and unity game development.

    And occasionally Java for android, and C to study for the test. (All programming tests use C, f### it)

    I hope to go to AI field (but i hate python) or game industry (i love c#).

    Or solve the google foobar in a very astonishing way and go to google. 😝

    i plan to go into programming meme generators using neural networks in brainfuck
  • 1
    @DavidINC is there library for nn in brain fuck?
  • 2
    @DavidINC @rik61072 Better question: Is there a NN lib in C: https://github.com/benjojo/c2bf
  • 2
    @romangraef dude tensorflow. The one we use in python is just a wrapper for the actual library written in c and cpp
  • 3
    @romangraef @DavidINC let's write an unoptimized piece of shit library for neural networks in brain fuck
  • 3
    @rik61072 ik. but i think this transpiler is only for pure C. but I'm pretty sure if one has strong determination one could make that "meme generator" in a day or so(after one is done with the same thing in C. but at least there is enough training data). btw: if you post it on devrant may i get a mention?
  • 2
    @romangraef lol I rarely have time, but if I do, for sure mate

    @linuxxx thank you for the tag :)

    My main language is JavaScript and I mostly do backend or right now I am working on a few discord bots. I also do some stuff with arduino from time to time.
  • 1
    @linuxer4fun
  • 2
    C++

    im planning in becoming an ai researcher.

    im already innovating in ai xD
  • 3
    @linuxer4fun you are actually a 14yo AI
  • 2
    @CozyPlanes artificial?
    thanks god no, im a human being with a dick to fuck my boss.😁
  • 1
    @linuxer4fun so cool. Btw I am doing the same thing. But u know I am kinda uncomfortable in just memorizing or just asking in stack overflow, what optimizer to use for a specific model. So I have started to study the maths. If you have any advice for me then please type em here.
  • 3
    @linuxer4fun teens shouldn't imagine fucking your future boss already 😂 😂 😂 😂
  • 2
    @rik61072 learn something more than python; I know enough that in AI you'll probably use C++ or rust at one point or another, plus he's using c++ too for a chess engine
  • 2
    @calmyourtities I have never heard of that tho but I have seen ppl use Matlab for prototyping the maths anyways, thanks
  • 4
    @CozyPlanes a good kaktus up the ass makez you stop complaining xD
  • 5
    @linuxer4fun What a perfect grammar..... 😇
  • 2
    @CozyPlanes yes. i learned that in germany xD
  • 3
    Kaktus growz in a desart. It storez watar inside itz body. That way, it makez kaktus not thirsty.@linuxer4fun
  • 2
    @CozyPlanes and mha kaktus is not thirzty tho
