IBM decided to change the EOL of CentOS 8 from 2029 to 2021, then continue CentOS as useless RR testbed. What a nice attempt at forcing users into the paid RedHat version.

That's a risky move because Rocky Linux is already gearing up to replace CentOS, and the whole RedHat ecosystem could bleed out to Ubuntu, Suse, and Debian LTS. Well done, suits.

Just installed Cent OS 7 on my HP 380 g6 server, can someone please explain why hp withholds bios updates unless you pay extra... Where do I even get a support licence for this old thing. DoD normally handle's these things.

Also what do you do with a server at home. I found some AI assistant software to run and of course VM's but what else.

Was helping a friend fixing apache url redirects he says I've got cent os i was a bit nervous. The configs were in httpd.conf file but as soon as i try to edit i see there is no nano editor
But there was vi editor, now I'm on call helping this dev and googling vim cheat sheet 😂😂😂😂😂, i had no idea how to edit the file. Its not that hard though.
