Spent 2 hours trying to figure out why an onchange event wasn't firing. It was my first project in .net 8 and I forgot to set the render mode. I'm not sure who I'm mad at, but I'm extremely mad at someone.

This might be controversial, but hear me out. I actually really like Windows 11.

I know needing an MS account, telemetry data, TPM, etc... are disqualifiers for some. I get that. And, I'm not suggesting that I'm going to blow out my Linux systems to install it at home.

But, being forced to use Windows on my office PC - I much prefer the feeling of 11 to 10.

Also, the "new" terminal is actually really nice.

So, let me preface this by saying I come from a backend (mostly c#) background.

The way React handles objects changing in state is horrendous. And if you decide to try using hooks, God help you.

I honestly don't know if it's Blazor or something else that will kill js, but something absolutely needs to. It is a dumb, terrible language. It has to go.

All that said, of course I'll go back to work on it tomorrow.

Sorry, js/react guys/gals. Just venting. I'm sure once I 'get it', it will make sense.

My thoughts on programming:

As a child:
It is 100% magic

As a developer:
It is 65% if/else statements, 34% iterating an array, 1% actual amazing and unique code

Has RAM quality just fallen off the deep end? I swear I remember a BSOD could mean just about anything, now it seems to be failing RAM every time.

Also, why am I troubleshooting it? I know a few programming languages, so suddenly I can fix anything plugged into a wall?

Been reading for a while now, finally frustrated enough to add my rant...

Backing up my home server with Veeam to finally ditch raid 5 and add some space. 38% finished when we had to leave for a Thanksgiving dinner. Thought that was perfect because I'd come home to a finished backup, install the new drives and get Plex/webserver back up and running. Nope. Win 10 decides to update and reboot in the middle of my freaking backup at 79% complete. Now, I've just told the friends and family I was with to expect the outage in the next hour or two thinking I was ready. Nope. Start all over again. None of this is truly important, really... But Jesus, that's annoying.

Win 10, you have a special place in hell. And Veeam, as much as I love you, you can be right beside them for not letting me run backup console on Linux.
