Handed over my keys and computer to my boss a moment ago and left the office for the last time. Spent 3 years there, and most of the people there came with me from my previous job I spent another 3 years at.
Feels heavy to leave a bunch of great people.
Two weeks until I start my job as a developer at a game company though.
Took me 6.5 years of work to finally get there.
Super stoked!
And I won't lie, some stickers on my new work laptop would not be a bad thing.3 -

Moving next week.
So while packing I stumbled upon my pile of failing drives which my computers have rejected since moving in here.
Time for some late spring cleaning.1 -
People that approve pull requests without looking at them!
No tests or so bad they would do more use by not existing, typos, the code follows none of the design practices and the code obviously will not compile and thereby breaks builds in trunk for everyone.
Because of course they only asked one person to review it and then merged it immediately. -
On vacation today but forgot we had a board game team activity planned so went to the office anyway in the afternoon (love me some board games) and instantly get pounced by people pleading for help. The build machine had imploded and the deploys broke, because of course it does that when you are away.1

The perpetual and inescapable decline into madness that goes under the name of "Visual Studio".
Every new version is just that little bit bloatier (I assume it can file your taxes in the next version), crashier and slower.
Nowadays I need at minimum two cups of coffee and reading my mail before I am ready for the days frustration of waiting for the solution to open.3 -
Did a "harmless" upgrade of our build Mac's os yesterday morning so we could follow up with an XCode upgrade. At 4pm I was still trying to get all the builds working.
The upgrade had borked Mono, the gem installer and lits of other stuff without saying anything. And XCode had invented a new build warning which it felt was a breaking change for no damn reason T_T
