I work from home and my biggest coding distraction is when the house is a wreck. I also love in a small 2 bedroom apartment and my office is in the living room..3

So I currently work at my first job and have for 2 years now. First project I had was to redesign a user info set up page. Didn't know any of the languages so kinda had to just wing it. Anyway finally committed my code and tested on dev server. Then code pushed to production and tested there. Then I saw a message from one of the top devs saying nobody could login. I replied saying that I was able to. Well, I actually ended up making it to where no one could log in except me. I learned real quick to never fuck up like that again. Surprised I wasn't fired on the spot.1

Found an infinite loop in SQL. One proc called another and then that one called the other. Woooooo.....

So where I work, we used to push our code from test servers to production every tuesday/thursday exactly at one in the afternoon. Every time there was a push, I would play "push it to the limit" blasting over my speakers. Now we have an automated push and I never really listen to that song anymore. I miss those days. Guys, I had my first REAL developer interview today. Without jinxing myself, I'd like to say it went really good. We discussed the companys upcoming projects, what they expect from a new developer, etc. but some thing that bothers me about it is there was never any discussion about my expected compensation. I'm not sure if this is common or not, but we'll see.3 -
!rant what do you ranters do when you're not ranting or coding? Me? I work on cars. Car in the picture is my gf's mini.9

So, monday I posted a rant saying that monday was a terrible day and that I was probably going to be fired/quitting soon.
Wednesday, I'm told that the project I had been working on for about a week was changed 2 days ago and to stop working on it.
Yesterday, I signed in and asked if there was any work for me (I work remotely) and nobody really responded so I just found something to work on. (This whole time, I'm thinking oh fuck, about to get fired) Then, about an hour before I was to sign out, I get a message saying that I'll be working on a new project starting today.
this morning, I signed in and had a meeting to get info on my new project. After the meeting, I check my bank account to see if I had enough money to order something and notice I had a bonus from the company. MFW.. So I asked one of my managers if there was a mistake and if it was supposed to go to someone else, and they said no. Of course, I said thank you and left it, but I STILL have no idea what it was for. https://youtube.com/watch/...2 -

Just submitted a video interview for a software development position at Verizon wireless. I feel good about it but man, recording myself to answer these questions was so awkward. I usually never look at cameras, I feel so awkward around them.

Been at the same company for 2 years, this has been the worst day, hands down. Probably going to be fired soon, or end up quitting. Yaay more time for personal projects, yaay not having money.2
