Got a second 1080p monitor for Xmas ans it gave me an excuse to clean my desk off ;)

I included the obligatory 'screenfetch' window as well, haha.

Now to see if I can hack together something resembling a KVM switch from parts I have, to use the Mac mini on one of them (when it's needed on rare occasion, lol).

P.s. I'm sure many of you have more bad ass setups, I even used to have quads myself... But I'm not posting this to start some pissing contest! It's just mine and I'm proud of it :P

Happy new year everyone!!!!

The screenfetch window is not really readable, but it's an archlinux system, i7-7700, 16gb... Also using fish shell, i3wm (heavily tweaked), MOTU rack gear running into the M-audio Bx8a's, Wacom Intuos, and of course the two mismatched 24" 1080p displays.

It's a mutt, but she gets things done ;)

Whoa this is one good looking setup. I should change mine too again. What are those audio blocking thingies on your wall? Are they really worth their money?

@b3b3 that's auralux (sp? iirc) foam, and it makes a huge difference. In my old house I had a much larger studio, knocked out a set of closets between two bedrooms and made it one room... it was awesome for space but horrible for the sound. Installing two of the auralux assorted kits made a world of difference! Now my studio is pretty modest, but I still treated it a bit. It's one of those things where you have to be familiar with the sound of the room and then you can really notice improvemeny after, but if you just put it up before trying to record/jam in a space you might wonder if it's doing anything... But it is!

Thanks for the kind words bud!!! :)

@agaskins I'll try that! I play 3 instruments and actually record some stuff too but in my room theres a hell of an echo. I asked some friends who didnt hear a difference but I'm kinda audiophile and not satisfied at all. I'll buy some of them and experiment the next few weekends for the best setup 🤗

@b3b3 that's awesome man! The corners are especially important, but if you're strapped for cash like I was and don't want to spring extra for the corner traps on top of the basic assortment, just use a few 1x1 squares arched into the corner (you can kind of see that I did that on the corner in the pic). I won't say it works equally well since I didn't have the real corner traps to compare, but it makes a big improvement none the less! Good luck with your studio bud!
