@NoMad working in a male dominated field is fine. You'll become one of them without noticing. That I worked more than a decade with almost exclusively men is very good noticeable in behavior and the stuff I say. I do expect that people with a PhD are a bit less sexist and rude than car dealers and factory employees (I wrote software for raspberries used in factories attached to label printers and stuff). The car dealers were the worst - people feeling themselves very cool because they exchanges big amount of monneehhh. I would've been depressed if I exchange so much money daily and were forced to wear a suit for work paid by yourself. You should realize you're getting fucked a bit after some time I think. Feel bit guilty saying that - had amazing time with them

@retoor the academics are a weird bunch. Some are open minded, most are "live and let live", few are backward dogshits. But mostly you get that one old admin lady in every uni office who discriminates against all single young women.
