Running SQL Activity Monitor to find inefficient queries. According to legecy team this is how they think they should query SQL 2014 for a customer.

While working at a health insurer not to be named(I wasn't even considered IT) the IT department sent me a query similar to this, with temp tables and left joins all over the place.

And we weep for their users.

Still looks nicer than some of the garbage I've seen with one of the systems where I work. I hate SQL Server...don't know why it's so difficult to get organizations to use PostgreSQL.

@wbuchanan because they have no one to pin it on if anything goes wrong. It's the same reason people use sybase or Oracle.

@daarkfall they can still find someone to pin things on if they use someone like EnterpriseDB's PostgreSQL distribution. I just hated the fact that I needed to learn a small amount of C# so I could get regular expressions in SQL Server.
