I’m assuming this post is made in lighthearted jest.
If not, then yeah, probably not; unless you’ve known her for a while.
And you know she the right girl for you in other ways. -
First; teach her to code, let her practice, and then when she starts using Emacs and tabs instead of spaces- dump her
-
oh, then wait on the marriage part.
maybe she could become a gf -> then wife of your dreams.
I’m being pretty lighthearted here, but seriously, if you’re really interested in her, best of luck dude. -
enoon4317y@PaulTheSaltyDev a flaw in your Boolean logic?
What if she uses Emacs and spaces but not tabs or she doesn’t use Emacs but she uses tabs and not spaces but never satisfying both conditions? π€

I think relationships should be about broadening your interests not narrowing them down. Someone who has their own interests but respects yours is the key. Fucking code is not a raison d'être.

I have gotten that question a lot, but all of em turned out to think programming == hacking facebook

@irene Tabs are only buggy if the editor is shitty or the code viewer/formatter was poorly written. A tab itself can not be buggy, it's just one byte of data.
We have 2018 now, use a proper editor... -
@irene Why would anybody use non-uniform indentation?
That already sounds like unreadable code. -
@irene That is not true. If you want to align your constructor calls 1.5 units in, then just put 1 tab + 2 spaces.
Or more sane: 2 tabs.
Of course nobody is able to have half & full tabs mixed together, so thatswhy we have spaces. When you use tabs for indentation, additional spaces are used for special alignment purposes, IF really needed. -
-
@irene @PaulTheSaltyDev I'd say as long as the format is discussed and approved by all devs or defined by one in charge, it's fine.
It only gets nasty when everything is mixed and not followed by devs...
I think we all have been down that hole at some point. π -
@irene Just the word "disagree" adds nothing to the discussion. Can you explicate yourself further?
