After a year of planning and researching and waiting. I finally realised. Fuck it. Let’s fucking do it already. So over the next 2 months, I’m gonna get other parts and have a real fucking rig ready.

How is the build quality and the thermals of the case? I really like the look.
  • 2
Well, I think you should wait for GTX 11 series.

JK, 10xx is cool too! 😀

@irene I truly hate AMD, so... Nope.
  • 2
@Charon92 @irene Yup. I’m going with Ryzen. They are awesome.

@Rabbyte @irene yup. The cycle never ends.

@Scade the case is super good. I don’t have all the parts yet - so it still is in the box but sometimes I just take it out to stare at it in awe. 😅

@AlexDeLarge yup. I have decided to get Ryzen 5 2600X or non-x. Whichever I find earlier.

Oh, I've got the exact same case!

I've got an s340, it is an amazing case, truly silent, i have 212evo cpu cooler and 390x strix, if the hdd isn't running, i cant even hear the coolers work, and pc is on my desk right next to me. I'm pretty sure you will love it too!

I built a pc when I was younger, but it’s been so long, and so much has changed I’m just not sure I can be bothered these days.

The idea of buying expensive components and then screwing up somehow and being out of pocket is terrifying.

Plus, I just find tower pcs to be incredibly ugly these days.

Good luck though, and looking forward to pics when you’re done!

I need to do something like this. I've never had a gaming PC.

My PS4 hasn't been turned on in probably 8 months or more. The games there are so fucking boring.

Except the horse riding game, that was dope.

@Brolls yeah well, I loved the research part. And there is no doubt that I’m gonna love the build part now.

@intromatt naah man. The only reason to buy a console these days is their exclusives. Sometimes I seriously wonder if I should buy a PS because I want to play last of us and god of war series and unchartered 🤷🏻‍♂️
  • 0
@irene maybe. More likely I’ll just play those on a friend’s console. 😛

I recently built myself a rig as well. I cannot recommend ryzen and nvme enough. With an aluminum case, it's shockingly light.
  • 2
@irene I have dark memories with them. Over 8 years, trusted them 2 times. And both of them came out fiasco.

:D same case as my bro (or at least looks like it + same brand)

    Good luck!

I've looked at those cases too. I'm thinking of building a dev rig myself; will most likely be Ryzen
  • 1
Exactly, you hit the nail on the head. Most PS4 games are identical.

I'm looking forward to playing some cool strategy mouse games. @irene

    NZXT S340.
    NZXT S340 everywhere.

If it takes you two months, you're doing something wrong.

    @Koolstr

Sometimes people don't earn enough to buy all the parts at once. It's frustrating to be in that position (as I certainly have before), but I wouldn't say it's wrong.
  • 1
Yeah, the machine I just built a couple weeks ago has a ryzen CPU and a GeForce VGA card. No problems, and huge perf.
  • 0
@Koolstr Wrong? It is what it is. I don’t see anything wrong.
  • 0
@bahua @puppypower If you can't afford it yet, why would you start building it? Wait until you have the funds. At that time the parts would be even cheaper anyway and new technologies would be out.
  • 0
@Koolstr it’s not about the money. I’m getting most of my parts in June. Just got the case now as I found it on sale.
  • 0
@puppypower Ok, good to take up on a sale, especially on cases. Personally that case isn't so hot, but how much was it? I prefer my cases to be full of abstract shapes and glowy lights :)
  • 0
@irene haha well I hope so! A friend of mine is coming from the US to my country in June. So hoping to get it for cheaper than here. Even if the prices don’t go down, I would save a butt load of money.
  • 1
@Koolstr yup. That’s what I thought. No point in delaying the case actually.
  • 0
    @irene yeah. it’s ridiculous.

    @Koolstr

Because for some people, there will never be a time when they can afford it altogether, even if that does carry the lowest combined cost.
  • 2
@Lahsen2016 i had problems with ryzen about a year ago. Troubleshot, nothing spesific came out. So, sold each and every part, no issues reported after selling. 🤔
  • 2
Good. Damn, my rig from 2013 that I built as a teen is still running strong and keeping up with my MacBook pro
  • 1
Nice! I will do the same in 2 weeks. I have been using laptops for 8 years and it’s time for a real upgrade.
  • 1
Good choice, I have the same case btw!
  • 2
Have you just considering installing Windows 10 and perhaps cease wasting time on stupid Linux shit like this.

These drivers will install automatically in Windows 10 and you can play all the games you want.

Please STOP these posts... I don't understand what people are trying to prove when they spend 20 hours trying to get WiFi, Wine or some stupid game working in Linux. Life is short, you don't need to do this anymore...how much is your time worth/a Windows 10 license is worth less than 1-2 hours of your time!!! @Lahsen2016

    NZXT cases are awesome!
Mine is from 2011, still functional and stylish.
