    @AlexDeLarge it's like Christmas
  • 3
    @mohammed what @AlexDeLarge said, pretty pleeze!!!
  • 11
    @danzig666 I wasn't going to post it, but I saw everyone celebrating Christmas (which is a religious festive) then why not Ramadan which is also a religious festive?
  • 6
    @mohammed christmas is a commercial appointment to maximize dollars. Not religious! 😉 finally I dont want x-mas posts here, too.
  • 5
    @danzig666 @AlexDeLarge

    That's cool, I respect your choices, kindly don't forget to remind who posts about Christmas, Easter... etc (for neutrality).
  • 2
    Thanks !

    Appreciated
  • 5
    If someday devrant turns into a new Facebook, you'll be part of the people to blame @mohammed
  • 5
    @deodexed Including everyone else with me who posts about Christmas, Easter ... etc? or they don't count?
  • 7
    To All who dont like this post

    Dont ruin it for us

    You can ignore the post, we're being discriminated against enough irl already

    I did not read anywhere that Muslims should not use this platform

    If IT IS thr case let me know so i stop using it

    Thanks
  • 3
    @Jilano Not really, show me one example of a Christmas post where people commented to not post about Christmas.
  • 4
    @IllSlapU "Celebrating" already triggered people to the max, imagine what "fasting" would do!
  • 2
    @AlexDeLarge I'll be waiting for that!
  • 6
  • 4
    Two wrongs don't make a right. The fact that you are defending your misbehavior by pointing out the misbehavior of others is pathetic. Let's aspire to greatness, not shittyness.
  • 5
    @AlexDeLarge i am playing no card here. I dont know what you are talking about

    You are free to think something i said is pathetic, it does not bother me

    Now can you go to another thread please ? Kindly asked in a nice manner ?

    Your hatred has been shown from the first message, you could have simply ignore it but NO you had to come and push your belief ( hatred of religions) on us and ruin it. Way to go ! Converting a nice thing to a fight is the go 😒😒😒

    No one is forcing you to comment and no one is forcing me to use this plateform

    If it's a right wing, bigoted dev platform, i'll gladly leave it and let them discuss what they want. You will not see me telling them to keep the platform free from whatever

    But if it's a free plateform, i wont accept you censoring my right of free speech

    I did not even start the thread and in fact i never discussed this religion ever in this platform, your comment triggered me and i wont standby discrimination, bullying and biggoterry
  • 3
    If an admin passes by and think i am over reacting, i breached some policy or simply did not like my comments

    Thanks for the nice moments i had before it wasnt easy to meet like minded people for that i am gratefull

    And please terminate my account, no hard feelings on my side
  • 5
    @benderRodriguez Dude chill please, devrant is the best place for developers, but you know these kind of phobics are everywhere!

    You can search Ramadan on devrant search and see how friendly is this platform.
  • 6
    @AlexDeLarge "because I'm used to this kind of topics breeding problems and quarrels"

    If you didn't comment in the first place, everyone would have lived happily without any problems or quarrels. Kindly, be open minded about everything in life!
  • 2
    Devrant is a public place, I, user of the said platform shouldn't be bothered by the non sense that are religions, especially on a fucking platform meant for developers, there is Facebook for that
  • 5
    @deodexed You know there is downvote -> "not for me" option right?

    As long as it is not against devRant's rules we will keep posting about Ramadan, Easter, Christmas ... etc.
  • 2
    @mohammed im happy to see you mostly dont post only about religious holidays.

    Afterall, in the about page of this app it clealry states:
    "devRant is a fun community for developers to share and bond over their successes and frustrations with code, tech, and life as a programmer.."

    So i guess we can all agree that these sorts of posts aren't really rants or stories so this is not really a platform to share these here.

    I just came because i cringed a little and i wanted to share. Then i read i wasn't the only one.

    I believe you posted this with good intentions, but i hope you get what I'm saying.

    Regardless i wish you a ramadan kareem and easy fests.
  • 4
    @bioDan Man I understand what you are saying, but what really upsets me is not a single Christmas or Easter post has this kind of comments, just why?
    Isn't religious posts tag should apply on all religion posts?
    I searched for Christmas posts before posting this and people were OK with it, so what's the matter now?
  • 1
    @mohammed i dont know why either.. I also dont remember seeing any particular christmas or easter posts either. Maybe its a news feed difference...?

    But if you do see any feel free to copy and paste from my comment 👍
  • 4
    @bioDan Just search merry Christmas or happy Easter on devrant search! Pick 10 random or sequential posts you will not find a single comment like yours there.
  • 0
    @mohammed so @AlexDeLarge has 10 times your ++ so he is famous and you are not. That makes his matters 10 times more important than yours. That is the nature of social media. Pleeze come back when having 100k ++! Until then please stay quite against @AlexDeLarge 😂😂😂 sry couldnt resist
  • 3
    @danzig666 is ++ all you care about?
    Or did I just get it wrong?

    @mohammed ramadan kareem
  • 2
    Methinks this was posted to start a shitstorm.. either way, happy holiday.
  • 1
    I will just leave this Classic here

    https://youtu.be/8r-e2NDSTuE
  • 1
    I don't understand why anyone cares this much?

    It's not like it's encouraging everyone to do it, or to participate, or a step towards devRant being a theist community.

    It's as deep as "good luck to those involved". Big whoop...
  • 2
    sorry man, but most users are here to listen to developers ranting their shitty life, not celebrating stuff. there is many other apps for that. i hope you understand.
  • 3
    @credibleWanker

    "When I search for, let's say "Merry Christmas" on devRant, most of the post is about Christmas..."

    >> Cool, I can show you 2 Islamic festive posts (Happy something format without jokes) where people reacted like this, but can you show me at least one non-islamic (Happy something format without jokes) being reacted like this?

    SHOW PROOF AND DONT CHANGE THE TOPIC

    "If you're actually talked more about, you know, dev-ranting, then the community might react a bit more friendlier to your post."

    >> The community is fine only some phobics & hypocrites!

    & Thanks for signing up on devRant with a new user to support your previous arguments without any evidence.
  • 3
    @tarstrong Thank you, man.

    That's what I call a nice conversation with open-minded people.

    If someone doesn't like this post and got offended, then report it and complain to the founders of the community to remove the post, like an open-minded and a civilized person!

    Why narrow-minded people always have to spread negativity and force their beliefs on others?
  • 3
    @Aiei I can show 10s of Merry Christmas posts without a joke, why people don't react like this there? Why don't you comment on Merry Christmas the same comment you did?

    If you say people already did react on christmas posts like this, then show me ONE example, I can show you 2 rants with different authors about islamic festive being reacted like this.

    Not you, but some people are phobics here!
  • 3
    @credibleWanker

    Thanks, again no EVIDENCE and just changing the topic as usual.
  • 3
    @credibleWanker

    "this is my last comment on this post as there's no longer any reason for me to comment on this post any further."

    Of course this is your last comment, I caught you red handed! (signed up just to comment on an old religious phobic post on a tech-based community). Also you have worked hard on your first user you can't be using this user anymore!
  • 1
    @mohammed why would i search for these? I couldnt care less about the comparison of religious posts, i already told you why in my first comment.

    So I wont go post by post on devRant and post my comment there so it would look equal to you. This post is what i saw. Here i cringed. Here i commented.

    So like I said, if you cringe in a similar religious post feel free to copy and paste my initial comment. I will not do it simply because it doesn't interest me. But you seem to be really interested in this "why", so feel free to go investigate it yourself :)
  • 4
    @bioDan I already did investigate on of the hyprocites above, I downloaded all his comments using devrant api and he commented the same on two islamic festive posts but not on a single non-islamic festive post. In conclusion, they are islamophobics and hyprocites!

    I respect other people's beliefs and I don't want to spread negativity.
  • 2
    @mohammed i like and respect that. About your investigative work and someone trolling, nice catch. I dont know about islamophobia though. You know how harsh Islamic countries are toward religious criticisms.

    But saying that "i think <religious post> doesnt belong here" is not a negative statement. Its just a valid opinion since it follows the guideliness and vision of the creators of this platform.

    Anyway, if you are searching for 'islamophobia" long enough you will be able to find it. Same as if you are searching for any hatred towards Windows, Linux, Mac, Jews, Christians, Hindu, Atheists, Gays, USA, Saudi Arabia, Germany, etc...

    Seems to me that you dont want to spread negativity, but you are certainly searching for it anywhere.
  • 1
    @bioDan

    """
    But saying that "i think <religious post> doesnt belong here" is not a negative statement. Its just a valid opinion since it follows the guideliness and vision of the creators of this platform.
    """

    >> I'm totally ok with "i think <religious post> doesnt belong here" statement. I get it, this is a tech community and we should not post about religious stuff.

    But since everyone is posting about chrsitmas, easter and other religions wishes then why "i think <religious post> doesnt belong here" on Islam related posts only? why the discrimination? shouldn't it be for all religion-related posts?

    Is the war finally over?
    Alex is done with it.
    I am done ...
    OP is done...
    Hereby, I declare the end of the war
  • 1
    @AlexDeLarge why won't you just stop it? C'mon.
  • 1
    War = this (to me unnecessary) heated discussion
  • 1
    Let is just fucking get away with this.
    No need to keep arguing like the Neofeminists. He got your point and you got his point. End it. Now.
  • 2
    @AlexDeLarge will you stop arguing on a dead discussion that you want to make alive again?
  • 1
    Again with "everyone posting here.. " i didnt post nothing. I didnt see nothing except your post.

    "Why islamic posts only?" - makes you look like you are trying to stir offense and negativity for repeating this 3 times or more by now.

    "Why the discrimination" - if there's one, it may be due to the way islam treats non-believers (please notice the use of the word 'islam' and not 'muslims' . this is just an idea, i dont really know)

    And finally, yes. This should be the same for all only religious posts.
  • 2
    @AlexDeLarge Typical narrow-minded arguments without any evidence! As usual, changing the topic to focus on narrow-minded thoughts to declare a win or feel superior 😂😂😂
  • 3
    @bioDan I have nothing against you, you are a neutral guy and I'm cool with it.

    I just can't handle one hypocrite, islamophobic and narrow-minded person who can't respect other's beliefs and trying to force his beliefs on others. I'm talking about the guy who's comments I pulled from devrant, when scrolling through his comments all you can see is bashing on religion on random topics that have nothing to do with religion and spread hatred and negativity.

    devRant is a tech community then why he has to bash religion on a tech community in all his comments???

    I'm just waiting for devRant block feature with all my patience!
  • 1
    Happy random access memory adan to Ya'll
  • 1
    @Alice Coming up on Devrant. Someone posted about how happy they are about trans acceptance and a shitstorm commences. Let's see what happens to the server costs, next on Devrant
  • 0
    @AlexDeLarge you all won‘t see sarkasm if you meet one? The whole discussion tiered me at some point. I share your opinion that people should leave religion out. @mohammed so this is nothing personal
  • 1
    @-ANGRY-CLIENT- you get it wrong. I tried my best with selecting the words like I did to let it sound sarcastic. But obviously I failed 🙃
  • 5
    Yeah to be honest, I don’t see anything wrong with this post. It’s properly tagged, it’s non-political, and it’s simply the same as a Merry Christmas post we see in December. And no, I didn’t read all the comments, but yeah, seems fine to me a couple of times a year.
  • 0
    @AlexDeLarge perhaps uber-true but I prefer religiophobe (if that ever exists 😂)
  • 3
    If even says “for everyone who is celebrating it” showing awareness that most do not...
  • 1
    @dfox this was not „please follow devrant rules“ but more a „please keep that out of here! It‘s polluting all other parts of life and social life already. Kthxbye“
  • 4
    Just to add one more thing - I completely agree devRant is not the place for religious discussion, but the simple fact is we’ve always had Christmas posts and we don’t plan to stop those. I don’t see why we would disallow a tastefully done Ramadan post. It’s literally like 3 holidays a year and the same ones every year, and 2 of those happen at the same time.
  • 5
    @danzig666 it’s properly tagged as random. It’s not polluting anything and it’s literally once per year. @trogus and my time is worth exponentially more than what it would be using it to crack down on Christmas and Ramadan “happy holiday” posts twice a year. We’re struggling/busy enough trying to improve the app. This shouldn’t be anywhere on the radar - a waste of time debating about it.
  • 1
    @dfox i dont think anything should be enforced against these types of religious posts. But i cringe when i see them in devRant because obviousely thats not why i have this app installed.

    So after reading your comment and unfiltering the random tag from my rant feed i hope to not see any of these types of posts anymore..
  • 3
    @bioDan yeah I mean they aren’t for everyone - but like I said, it’s not more than twice a year. And it’s not like they are getting hundreds of upvotes, this has 26 upvotes, it’s not prominent or highly ranked content. I just think cracking down on major holiday posts is kind of crazy, as long as they are categorized correctly, don’t try to be political, etc.
  • 1
    @dfox yes i agree, but who here said anything about cracking down posts? :)
  • 2
    @AlexDeLarge Happy early christmas! 😊
  • 2
    @AlexDeLarge Happy Early Hanukkah! 😘
