    @Alice oh, I learnt a new word that may be the best way to describe how I experience these things...

    Thanks for sharing that word :)

    Well, that is human nature. You cannot do anything about it.
  • 3
    @Cyanide well, it's not because something is natural that it doesn't suck...

    Prime example is diseases.

    "natural" but getting sick sure ain't nice.

    @FMashiro When did I say it doesn't suck?
  • 1
    @Cyanide you didn't... Excuse my frustrated reaction.

    @FMashiro No worries :)

    @Alice And these medications of yours. They are illegal?
  • 1
    @Alice oh. Right. You scared me for a bit there.

    I can't take most of those tho because they lower blood pressure and mine already is pretty low.

    @FMashiro You don't have to. Be natural.

    @Alice Just asking. These medications you are talking about. Are they illegal? And why unethical?

    "yours" was just a contextual thing.

    @Alice Antidepressants have the ability to lower sexual urges?
  • 2
    @Cyanide @Alice well a lot of antidepressants have that as a potential side effect, but I’ve never heard of them being used off label to curb sexuality intentionally

    It’s really interesting that that’s illegal?? A few years ago I went on a med with that as a side effect and I was so relieved, it’s what I needed at the time, but I don’t understand why medical system is so paternalistic - if you wanna do it, if it’s your choice, why shouldn’t you be able to?

    @FMashiro I feel you. -_-

    Comeon guys! This is rant site for devs not a love confessions page. 😞

    There is an ethical option as well. Explore Polyamory. Ethical non-monogamy.

    ++, same here, I get attracted so easily to people, especially those who I don't want to be
  • 0
    This sounds cookie cutter but the older I get the more I wish I could have told my younger self it more. (I mean things worked out I’m happily engaged now)

    There are a lot of people out there!!! Romance is a failure game. It’s just like sales. Also like sales if someone isn’t interested right off the bat it’s best to move in.

    Don’t go crazy trying to broaden your appeal. As long as you don’t have any big detractors you need to work on, eg bad hygiene, severe ailments, really just be yourself and keep putting yourself out there. Also don’t be too picky. Your suitors are people too. Do watch out for crazies.

    @Alice what's that mean? Demisexual?
  • 3
    I've got this with lesbian girls. Only I find out that they're lesbian AFTER getting the damn crush 😞

    @theKarlisK Thanks for your worry. I am not into drugs and never will be.

    @linuxxx my brother has had a crush on EVERY girl I’ve ever brought home lol idk why but it seems to be a thing

    @Alice thanks for the explanation :)

    @Alice what about romantic attraction? Would demisexual also encapsulate the fact you also don't get romantically attracted very often to people you don't have an emotional bond with?
  • 1
    @Alice not by money either then, I suppose 😁

    quite a lot of psychoactive drugs (Sertralin, Amphetamine, Methylphenidata, Risperidone etc.), can (and most likely will) affect sexuality depending on the drug.

    *most* anti-depressants (Sertralin, Paroxetine, Venlafaxine, etc.) and anti-psychotics (Risperidone for example) are suppressors (sometimes referred to as relaxants due to their effect, but that's not really correct as relaxants are aimed towards the muscles), therefore they will generally supress sexuallity as side-effect (and in some cases eliminate it all together) as it means it requires more hormones to get somebody turned on.

    On the other side of the spectrum, we have stimulants (counter-intuitively, they are generally used to suppress stuff like ADHD).

    These include stuff like Amphetamine and Methylphenidate

    They literally send the system in overdrive so you won't be "overwhelmed" by sensations of happyness n stuff and in most cases increasing sexuality as side-effect.
