The hardest part of starting a new project is finding a name for it!! FFS && FML.

@c3ypt1c anyhing. I've run into this problem with every project I've started. Often I stick to Latin words (like my name)...

@FelisPhasma well... what I usually do is open new folder... create a new file either called index.php or engine.xx and work from there... after I know what the code is, I rename the folder (with what it actually does), create a new repo on Github, clone and then push..

I'm not sure what you create a problem for but I just have a folder called exercise then subfolders with a name of what I'm trying out, like "exercise/using_sass"

normally just what the project does. For example "Certificate installer" or "Authenticator app". If the project is larger, I usually prepend it with my firstname. For example "Sebastians Mobile Support Tool"

    abominable_lochness
    As examples :P

Terry Pratchett characters. Vimes, Angua, Carrot, Nobby. Eventually someone professional will give it a professional sounding name. Until that time, an app needs a name...

The sysadmin at one of my first dev companies used to name all our servers after characters from Greek mythology. My favorite was our proxy/firewall server. Named 'Charon', after the boatman that allows souls to cross the river Styx from the living world to the land of the dead.

I name them alphabetically after locations in Canada and Scotland that I've visited. Project Aberfeldy, Burnaby, Capilano, Dunked, Etobicoke, Falkirk, Glasgow, Halifax, Inverness... you get the idea. When I run out of letters I'll start over this time with something else, like constellations, writers, metal bands...
