Water, enough sleep and motivation makes me awake.

Coffe is physically addictive... When you start the brain does not produce enough something because coffee is replacing it.
That's why a coffee drinker can't function without it, and people who doesn't need coffee has lots of energy in the morning...
We coffee addicts need the stuff to think properly...
Btw it's more addictive then weed

Coffe is overrated, a good 7hrs sleep and a better time schedule and sleeping pattern is all enough.
Coffee has been lobied just like in the 40's how the dairy lobby did for milk.

So happy to finally have found other devs that just need water! Every one of my colleagues can't seem to understand or feels the urge to comment on it a few times before they just let me drink my water...

I drink coffee because I like the thing itself, but I never had any sort of effect or kick from any coffee. I could drink Orangina (which I also do) and water during code. Actually, as long as I have a passive activity like drinking to keep me awake, I can go all night long :)

Water and the fact that I love what I'm doing easily keep me going. Although I still like to drink a coffee from time to time, but that's mostly because I really like a taste of it
