It's happening. The end of the world.
Robots and AI taking human jobs = increased unemployment rate = homelessness rate = increase mortality rate from starvation, hypothermia, or disease. -
No.
There's AI that can "write code" already but last time I checked lots of us have jobs still.
This wouldn't even become a norm for several years if it would even take out jobs -
@Stuxnet true, if does have the funding of Microsoft tho, it may go possibly a long way in a few years

Microsoft can't get a search engine right, fails with browsers, smartphones and now also Win-10, but will take over with AI. Sure.
-
C0D4669026y@Fast-Nop with all there failed attempts, they have to get something right a eventually.
-
@C0D4 well the legendary 1000 monkeys at the 1000 typewriters are still working on Shakespeare's Hamlet, but once they get that, they can apply at MS.

@Michelle lol as if people were poor puppets subject to some inevitable destiny..
Humanity didnt end when computers were invented. True, a lot of jobs disappeared, but a lot of new jobs appeared and we took a step into a new realm. Technology is supposed to make the life of humans easier and not erradicate them. AI will be no different. It is a powerful technology and we really need to watch it but we shouldnt demonize it, because then we can face it properly.
I see the future with AI more like an augmented reality. Basically a lot like google, but more specialized.
Automation replaces human work by definition, but should scripts be banned then? when something is automated you can go and do something else. and who knows, maybe some day a time will come where literally everything people dont want to do is automated and people can just focus on living their life. There will probably be a pretty strong DIY culture, because thats just what people are like, but thats great imo -
@segfault0xff yeah, and that's vendor lock-in with Windows. While this is profitable, it's a bad long term strategy.
-
MattB806yMan in the moment that statement is true already 95% jobs will already be replaced by AI
-
samxxx9126yWill these pages work on internet explorer?
Mortal humans are struggling for long time, let's see if AI can achieve it.
I am worried,if it works then is it mean AI is superior? 🙄 -
@Paramite it does work - for a time. But it's a better long term strategy to make your customers want your products than to imprison them in a cage.
Microsoft is already losing touch. Everyone has big data. Google .Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Ebay, Paypal. But Microsoft has been sleeping as usual, and the strategy of catching up by abusing the desktop monopoly has reached its pull date because applications are migrating to client-server left and right, and the client OS is not that important anymore.
Building spyware into Win10 was one desperate move to collect data, buying Github another one.
Hmm rip web developers?
