@irene this is their most complicated model ๐as fat as you can get. Fat sound is an actual thing btw
-
cherkie5236y@irene it is a really good amp brand. AD-200 + P Bass strung with thick old school flats and you're golden.
-
@M1sf3t I bought my one brand new, made in China. No one want it anymore. Rarely have change to use it. Tube just too loud. Vox seems has better value? Never own one, but Marshall, or fender should cover most of the need. And remember, always buy used!
-
@M1sf3t Marshall offers a wide range of amps. Just like intel, i3 and xeon are not the same. Mesa more focus on much narrower customers, if you are that kind, go for it. I have seen kids bought Mesa but could pay the debts, so they sell them on Trademe (like eBay but in NZ) for pennies. These bad boys are very very loud. Be sure you can practice it before you buy ๐
-
@M1sf3t another good part of Marshall is the eco system, just like iPhone. If you practice with your friends in a studio, you often can rent/ borrow easily, don’t have to byo.
-
@M1sf3t high end amps have “internal trigger”. Once you got one, you will want to buy more๐
-
@M1sf3t I believe as long as it’s a full cycle, you could divide it into as many as you want ๐ค
-
@M1sf3t never heard about 24 notes. But could be out there and I don’t know it. I’ve never learnt music. Just a hobby. Used to buy lots of guitar effects, echo, reverb, chorus, distortion, etc. the good part about them is they keep their value well.

fml892276y@M1sf3t the amp - Benelux and Germany doesn’t get orange crush :D
I don’t even play guitar or bass that much anymore - I push a lot of synth stuff though it tho :D -
wowotek58166yDamn this bring back my old memories creating an amp using Celestion Vintage. Damn it was goooooooood
-
Yeah these audio things are for freaks anyway.
I have a room sound enhancer that is meant to generate counter-sound for fighting room resonance modes as my room is nearly square.
Works like a charm, but you have to actually use a test CD with a sound meter for getting this right. Probably that's why it's difficult to even buy such things. -
fml892276y@M1sf3t yassss i Love Fanta exotic, pomelo and cassis - funnily enough these don’t do well on the German market :D
-
@fml89 panels are good for higher frequencies (got them too), but not for bass. I measured +30 dB at 41 Hz in my room. On top of that whenever music hit that frequency, that tone would even continue for several seconds. oO The bad thing with a square room is that the room modes in both directions are on the same frequency.

"Abends Fanta, morgens stand er." LOL
(Fanta in the evening, boner in the morning - but in German, that rhymes nicely) -
Eversor3526y@M1sf3t Joyo zombie is a great (and cheap too) amp if you want a good metal tone. Best advice would be to go to a store and find out what sound you like, and most important: whatever the sales people tell you don’t buy a line 6 spider. They do have a lot of sounds and effects, but all of them sound like shit. Better buy an amp that has 1 great sound that you like than having to choose from 100s of crap sounds :-)
-
Eversor3526y@M1sf3t what about a two channel amp and some pedals for specific tones? Or the same thing I did: get a second hand ace-fx mark 2 ๐
-
Eversor3526y@M1sf3t what I mean with two channels is that most of the serious amps have a ‘clean’ channel and some sort of overdrive/distortion channel. If you have that you can just press a button on the amp to switch between the two, which is quite usefull in your case since you play different styles. You still have a powerfull distortion option on your amp while you also have a channel to play around with when you want something more soft :-)
Yes I like the axe-fx a lot, and numerous of pro bands use them as well. What it actually is is that the axe-fx is not just an fx box, but it is a modeller. It basically simulates the actual hardware of almost any amp you want. Fender, marshall, engl... they are all in that. Same goes for cabs, effect pedals etc etc. i can changes any resistor/tube/whatever part in it as well if I wish to. Just hook it up to my laptop and I can tweak every freaking bit of it. It’s really the best piece of music hardware I ever bought apart from my guitar itself. -
Eversor3526y@M1sf3t i got mine second-hand for 1200 euros. Which is quite some money, but on the other hand you have got basically everything you ever need. There are two things to keep in mind though:
- buy an axe-fx mark II, not the ‘ultra’ or another one of the first generation. There are way more models for the mark II than for the older ones and the software is also better
- You will need an external amplifier if you want to connect it to a cab or other speaker that does not have an build-in amplification. You can get these pretty cheap though, I got one from thomann for 100 euros or something thats doing a great job. Just a decent PA amp will do. It does not need to have any effect, it only needs to amplify the signal from the axe ๐ค๐ผ -
