    If it’s really this fucking easy, would anyone mind sliding an extra Minecraft over to me?

    @calmyourtities actually I just checked, and I think I played a demo once.... With unlimited material... Lost interest in like 30mins.... Basically blocks of different colors.

    If I really wanted to build something, I'd just buy Legos...

    There's the Minetest alternative also if you want
    (sudo apt install minetest)

    He only needs an account if he wants to play on "online" servers (ie servers that check your mc account). He can play the singleplayer for free, and you can run your own server in "offline mode", so it won't check if you have an official account, and you can play for free with other people

    @billgates Modpacks.

    Also: redstone circuitry. It's Turing-complete. There's also ComputerCraft if you prefer LUA to circuitry.

    Im currently playing the Enigmatica 2 Expert modpack with a friend. Progression, combat, exploration, magic, machinery, circuitry, automation, cooking, rocketry, other planets, new biomes, pretty terrain, dragons, ... .

    @billgates I think Minecraft has actually lost a bit of popularity compared to earlier years. I guess it’s harder to appreciate Minecraft if you didn’t grow up playing it lol. For me the best part about the game when young was the ability to explore a practically infinite world and express my imagination limitlessly, or playing in survival mode and being genuinely scared by the mysterious monsters that could be awaiting me in the dark and lonely world.

    Nowadays I don’t play it. I did stop to play a demo at the Microsoft store the other day!
