Hey one of my mates uses Google drive with zip files for code sharing...

Mine use to have a special email thread to keep updating and sending files as attachments

We actually use carrier pigeons, it's surprisingly efficient

Binary via telegraph is where it's at

My classmates use skype and whatsapp for sending each other full java classes

    good lord.

We just telepathically send code to each other

"classmates" seems like you are still at a young age and so are your classmates. Not alot of people in that age actually care/know about coding or geek stuff. Most of us discover the geek within ourselves at college when we're starting to spend more time on programming assignments because we're developing features that were not asked and we think it's alot of fun. I love it that young people get into IT so early. Enjoy being the superior geek in school, the kids in your class probably will find out that they don't like programming that much or maybe they'll find themselves more comfortable with ASM or some other hardcore stuff

Can I +100 this comment. It's so very true. I once used Dropbox to share code. Then I was introduced to git and various guis(I current use source tree) it's all a learning process and very fun! We all gotta start somewhere, and if that somewhere is sharing code from Dropbox then I say so be it. As long as we continue to learn better techniques! @iceman

@iceman with classmate I am talking about junior software engineer in my master degree
  • 2
@toplac explain him the benefits of git (more control, branching & merging, diffs). If he still does not understand then he will gonna have a hats time.

But the real question is: why should you use Eclipse, if you could just use IntelliJ or another JetBrains IDE?

@iceman if young age is 19/20 maybe, since that's what my CompSci class looks like

On top of that, barely any of them are really into tech, i don't think any of them would do something code related for fun or to learn something more than what's being told in class.

@yarwest then these people definetly did something wrong in their lives
