So I went to a car repair center and asked if they could fix my bike. They said they could but they won't. This is outrageous, obviously a bike is less complicated than a car and they can actually fix it, they just won't because it's "not their job". Unbelievable!

//This didn't really happen of course
//people don't think this is acceptable, but if I won't fix their laptop they are surprised and act the same way. I study ICT (embedded software engineering and cyber security, but they don't understand that so ICT it is) so I HAVE to fix their laptop....
//Non-techies should really learn that just because we can do something, we don't have to do what they ask of us

    @Floydimus some(read: most) people are jerks. I don't even help those people anymore. Fuck em

    Hi... Why that tag?

    @linuxxx you've got a secret admirer

    @Floydimus make a detailed test rapport after fixing because that has become habit. Take a few days to fill it in and then return the item :)

    @Floydimus maybe it's time to get a new job or make them suffer

    @linuxxx just because. I couldn't think of any tags and I was wondering if people actually read them.

    @Floydimus ah, emotional blackmailing. You'll get past that eventually. Used to work on me too but since then I have learned to not give a hoot about some people. It's not the best solution but it works and it keeps annoying people/requests away so I'm happy.

    @Floydimus get that tester in you out again and test the complete thing you fixed for "two complete days" and deliver the test results with it.
    Then people get annoyed when you repair their stuff because it takes to long.

    @Floydimus "hey you can't repair my phone for me right?"
    "NO" «fuck, he got me»
  • 0
    @Floydimus yes, but you said you are making progress saying no. So once people figure that out then you will get inversed questions. Thus accepting to fix things. (thats why the "fuck he got me") was there, it was a thought)

    @Floydimus saying no is indeed an art these days. Some people are too nice for their own good. You'll feel the sweet release of no and you won't be able to go back

    @Codex404 luckily people aren't smart enough to pull that shit
