    Yeah, probably is

    Most likely

    Just gotta keep applying and not let the length of time it takes get to you. It’s not a reflection of how good you are or a measure of your worth. (She says, repeating the mantra she tells herself)

    I've spent the past few days contemplating enrolling in a tech program and burning up the last of gi bill for this reason. I've got enough general studies courses to put toward two tech degrees so ideally it would only take a year or so and by that time not only would I have a piece of paper to show them but hopefully this whole covid thing would be over and companies will be back to business as usual

    If you're in the right country, know php, reactjs, .net and well versed in azure..... maybe.

    @C0D4 What if I can just count by twos and tie my shoes?

    @OP Hang in there!
  • 2
    @Jilano you sold me on the shoe tying skills alone! But we already know how you are around the drop bears 🤭

    @AmyShackles it certainly does feel like it. I went through the same schooling as a lot of people who work at these places, as Linked likes to tell me how many alumni work there, and yet I'm rarely even getting an interview.

    @C0D4 Ha! A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do! Even if it's hard! (Or especially :D)

    @M1sf3t What was your MOS?
  • 1
    @coder-guy 61b for a couple years then switched to 11b to get out of the mob station I was stuck at and finally get a plane ticket.

    I had a scholarship coming out of high school and very idiotically though split op with the guard would be a good option. Instead it helped nuke my college aspirations and nearly my military career as well 🙄

    @M1sf3t It'd be cool to hear more of your story if you get the time.

    @Wisecrack idk it's pretty long, even when I don't go into detail. I've been around the block a few times, passing go without collecting $200 quite often and nearly going directly to jail once for a few years had it not been for my gracious commander insisting that my time would be better spent serving overseas instead of rotting away in federal lockup.

    Edit: I say gracious, he was a redheaded irish-american ex-marine infantryman so you can probably imagine how that actually went when he found out they were about to take one of his favorite soldiers away a month before we deployed 😅

    @M1sf3t But this only raises more questions and makes me want more!
  • 0
    @Wisecrack all just wasted days of a misspent youth. It's like 2600 characters unedited up to the point I got deployed if you really must know the details 😅

    Man i came here to rant and everyones having their own convo in it ;_;

    @Matthewb what do you expect @Wisecrack showed up and I was already here 😅
  • 1
    @Matthewb @M1sf3t already said it, but we needed a place to discuss important things and yours was comfortable enough!

    "You should be grateful! By the way, do you have any more beers?"
  • 3
    @Jilano no I drank them all im drunk as fuck
  • 1
    @Matthewb well no fucking wonder it took you three days to get back here 😆
  • 1
    @M1sf3t Yeah, poor @Matthewb probably got lost in his own apartment
