do not use the word coder please.

if you write code, you're a programmer. if you call yourself a coder, you're either a sixth grader who just learned about the terminal, or an idiot.

When someone says "coder", I immediately think of someone doing HTML, CSS and basic JS while writing all these beginner tutorials on dev.to or medium.

Coder != Programmer for me, sorry!

Careful with that edge, you nearly sliced me over the internet.

I agree. “Coder” just sounds dumb. Honestly, I prefer “developer” or “software engineer” to “programmer.”

Programmer is a device, and developer is a chemical.

Master of desaster would be more fitting than coder.

Coder is someone who encodes. Encodes what? Idk and idgaf.

Programmers program a machine to do something.

Engineers come up with a solution that the program can solve.

Some people do all of the above. What are they?

@GyroGearloose app is short for application program or application software, terms from 1960s
