I don't know why people call themselves "Developers" when they really just download a WordPress theme and adds bunch of plugins without touching a single line of code.

What the hell is going on?

This needs to be framed and hanged somewhere.

Well... They made the decision to go with WordPress... That's tech lead skill level. ;)

I class myself as a website developer. Whether it's hand coded html, php and CSS, custom WordPress themes or something bespoke I use what will work best for my client. Just because you make apps or software based on a framework doesn't make you more developer-y, just more arrogant.

Is for the use really, I use WordPress for some domains I have for convenience and rapid deployment, but for other stuff you have to use the right tools for the job.

Maybe you don't see the decision behind that election, if you say you are a developer or programmer and you only install WordPress maybe your are none of the 2 xD

My course has a "Web Development" module and we cover, wait for it, WordPress development! First time we are taught PHP and it's in the form of working with WP. We will be coding but DAMN this ain't web dev... I learnt so much more in Austria...

@Drastic 'wordpress developer' sounds like an oxymoron...unless you actually do something with their php codebase(plugin, maintainable, etc)
