    Only server-side JavaScript fanboys do.

Join the club :) I am actually quite a fan of it, especially when it's used with a good framework (codeigniter is my personal favourite).

@LucaScorpion I am very fond of the symfony2 framework and ecosystem, and even in plain php projects I like to include its components.

@Ronald I've worked with Laravel for a bit, really nice framework too! Though for the small projects I'm doing it always feels somewhat overkill.

@LucaScorpion Shame that they kill it, no major update for a long time

There are more of us out there that actually like php but you have to search a bit. Maybe because it's somehow trending to hate it.

I lover PHP myself. I'm also getting more and more into JavaScript (nodejs) but I still prefer PHP.

I do, but mostly for ease-of-use reasons. I'm not a web developer by trade and whenever I use PHP to build a website for something I need I feel like I have to spend so much time setting up my environment that it's insane. I find myself using a node server just so I can move on with my life. Not to say I like Javascript either, but I like it better than setting up Apache :P

tl;dr ur wrong and u should feel bad /s

@Notebookdeviant Why do you set up apache manually? Now that's offensive ;)

On a more serious note: There's docker and the image php:7-apache for a reason. (And even before docker I had vagrant running a puppet script setting up a base system.)
