Fuck you and your shitty updates Microsoft.

I never asked for a fucking weather app on my taskbar.

Why the actual fuck would I EVER need that shit? I have that on my phone already, same for my news, and literally everything else you try to molest me with.

Want to know why Linux is growing market share? It's because it's an OS first and not some husk that shoves content at you and screams "CONSUME ME!"

FUCK YOUR SHITTY UPDATES, AND FUCK YOUR PLATFORM OF PETTY METRIC BULLSHIT.

I've never seen or heard about weather in task bar...

    @iiii https://engadget.com/windows-10-new...

I would like to know who these "insiders" are, because I'm almost positive they're 60+ year olds that don't know the difference between Firefox, Chrome, and Edge.

If Microsoft is taking feedback, maybe they should focus on how much money they cost companies when they perform their forced updates.

Or maybe they should focus on fixing their Bluetooth stack that's been broken for 20 years.

IDK, call me old-school but I always prefer a product that works before I get all the bells and whistles.

Windows is like a car with cold ac, hi-fi stereo, without seats and an ignition that works randomly.

Also notice that the "weather app" is also pushing indoctrination type news.

Windows defender of devRant appearing here in 3... 2...

Plus it’s blurry. I just removed it. I wonder how long before it’ll somehow be reactivated on it’s own

Is Linux market share really increasing?
  • 4
@nonox sadly no, well if you mean on PC. Otherwise yes it's a monster and it's everywhere. My 6 year old car r even has Linux in it's nav/entertainment system

@purist Windows defender it's always there, in the background.

I long ago off my frustration here with Windows task bar. No element has been untouched by rape. Crap in start menu, undesired apps in the pin, notifications about edge you should really use. And not too long ago some weird skype (meet now) thing next to the clock, now this weather bs.

@hjk101 wanted to say that 🤣

Especially when they still have a botched excuse for a settings application. Nine times out of ten I end up just opening control panel to make changes. Why release a half-assed program and confuse your user base? Just release it when it can wholly replace the former.

@ostream can you be both a communist and a nazi? 🤔

The level of fucking shitbaggery Microsoft would stoop to, to get me to click on a Microsoft Edge link, is honestly pathetic.

Default browser -> Chrome. Clicking on this new retarded weather cum news cum random ass shit app, opens Edge.

I would've actually considering using this shitbag toolbar app if it weren't obnoxiously pushing edge links and Bollywood cringe on my feed.

@ostream Linux is voluntary communism. Which is worlds better than forced communism.

Microsoft has some questionable product mangers

I got this update too 2 days before. What assholes.

And i recently figured out why the fuck does windows consume 100% of the disk 30 mins after rebooting.. and it is the 150 useless services running in the background automatically. I have disabled it.. but i am yet to see the difference. hopefully it helps.

@ostream according to some Americans the earth is flat... Your new form of extreme extremism is just as impossible as the average Trump follower.

Seeing Windows as dictator and Linux as a communist is interesting. The problem is that the choice of OS no matter what OS is often not the voters (users).

Can't you just disable that addon? You surely can do that
  • 1
I wouldn't mind it just for flavor, honestly, IF

    1. The images of the sun weren't slightly cut off at top/bottom, possibly just poor interpolation, makes mad either way

    2. It was in the language the entire system is set to. Why does it tell me "Sonnig"? Are you not able to recognize the system setting? Do you HAVE to base it off the region I am currently at?..

    Ouf.

I think it was the right decision for me to ditch Windows completely last year.

Just turn it off from the Taskbar settings. It's not a big deal 😒😕

@mahmudx why though? Why even have it?

Give me one good reason I should use it.

Sure bout we all use laptop,PC at home or office or maybe somewhere to shelter. So "Window maker" thought that we need a weather forecast on our taskbar...uhmm
  • 1
@mahmudx A feature added in just to be immediately turned off by customers in their first use. Wonderful ahha.

Now the thing randomly switches between Celsius and Fahrenheit on my machine.
