Xoka12803yYou're making something SIMPLE as OVERLY COMPLICATED. You don't take notes of every words that gets uttered. You just note a few key points so that when you see the words, it reminds you of the topic.
& Since, you're not taking notes on a seminar, you can definitely watch the video a thousand times. So, why not watch it 2-3 times to take notes properly? ( If needed ) -
Voxera115853y@Xoka I agree, watch it one time to get the geist and then one or more where you pause for notes.

h3rp1d3v5233yI used to highlight-copy-pasting transcripts into evernotes/hypothesis web clippers, thinking it would be handy to find watched videos using evernote/hypothesis search. Nope, never feel the need to look at my old notes

atheist99293yPassive listening isn't a great way to learn, try to do the problems with reference to the lecture, just use the transcript or something as notes

You should try noting only the key points, concepts, definitions, summaries and such.
Taking notes of everything won't help you as much IMO. -
Just don't take any notes. When you need to remember details about something, just watch another more specific video about it.

It gets more difficult when trying to take notes while watching a video.
How the fuck to go about it? I have yet to strike a balance between “listening to learn” and “listening to take notes”.
Both are very different things and can’t be done at the same time. What happens then is that I end up watching a video twice, or end up without any notes.
