# did you use internet while writing the codes for the questions?
* Yeah, I just took some help and...
# you can't take help from the internet. It's a rule. Have you not read it? Go through the rules of Toptal again and...
Rest I forgot -_-
TL;DR their rules3
Fuck Android Studio updates. Why you morons call it a "STABLE" update when its clearly not? -_-
You guys ruined the layout editor -_- But you guys also left no way to use the older version nowadays.
Fuck you Google!!!
Suppose, you were given a project source code of an Android app, a pretty BIG sized app. You don't know anything about the code unless you read line by line. Now you were given a deadline to fix some bugs, but you don't know where to start or where to put breakpoints to debug. In that case, how would you do it? How would you debug the code?
When a dev leaves a project in the middle, and someone else has to continue their shit, that's the worst fucking thing ever!
3000+ lines of codes in just one class? Fuck!
I don't even know where to put my code, where to put debugger break points, where to... fuck fuck fuck!!! >_<4
Lets just say that Stripe payment gateway or paypal doesn't work in your country, but you have to accept payment through credit/debit cards like martercard/visa and Paypal in your web app or mobile app. How would you do it?12
Today I had a dream, not sure if I can call it a nightmare:
I was doing ReactJS + TypeScript. but no matter how much I try, I can't seem to match the type of the variable/object. The IDE ( WebStorm ) kept showing RED marks under the variables & I kept trying, but no solution!
& Finally I woke up at 3 am :|1
>: what kind of future do you dream of?
>: A future where you can buy SSD of 1 terabytes for just 1$12
Anybody here creates desktop app?
or likes to create desktop app for own needs?
If yes, Which language/framework/platform do you use?
Care to share some tips or inspirations?
GENDER DISCRIMINATION! -_-
If you are a GIRL, there's a HIGH chance for you to win the Hackathon. If you are a BOY, well... :|22
I created a my portfolio using ReactJS and actually open sourced the whole thing. Within just a few weeks, its got 67 stars, 38 forks, 3 watches, 1 issue, 1 pull request, and so on.
People out of nowhere messaged me in my whatsapp, skype, facebook to help them in React.
People out of nowhere wanted to hire me, even though I'm still working in a company.
People out of nowhere messaged me just to tell me, how much they liked my work and appreciated it for open sourcing it.
It felt awesome! Like, I can't explain how amazing it felt! ^_^10
Any ReactJS developer here? Just wanted to ask, how do you handle SEO with ReactJS SPA? Do you follow any tutorial to convert it to SSR? Or do you just use NextJS instead?
in the freelance marketplaces, some people write, "Need a freelance developer for SMALL TASK". who the hell defines those tasks as SMALL task? if you knew this is a SMALL task, why don't you just do it yourself? if its so small, why don't you just ignore it? if its a small task, why don't you just spend five-ten minutes of your "precious" time to learn how to fix it?
& then when it comes to paying, they say, "My budget is 5$, because its a small task"
Seriously? in 5$ my electricity bill wouldn't be covered.
& Then comes to the marketplace commission! Most of the times, its about 20%
So, I get 4$
Then it comes to the bank tax and blah blah!
So, now I get around 2$ or 3$
Now, I don't know whom should I kill first -_-
The clients or the marketplace owner or the government or the bank owner or myself :}11
Hated function naming in python, because some functions are like "dothisorthat", some are "do_this_or_that", some are "doThisOrThat", some are, I don't know, what new technique of naming would python devs invent in the near future. Honestly, these naming creeps me out4
The university I used to study CSE, they had some OLD computers with Windows XP in them. Also, all those computers had TWO user accounts. One with the admin access and another one with normal access. Until this, it was fine.
But the browsers installed there were so old, even normal website struggles to load properly. and so many outdated apps, kept bugging us for update, but every time we click on UPDATE, they ask for the admin password, which we didn't have. So, most of the students were frustrated about this, but nobody took any action! :/
So, I hacked one of the computers' admin password. the password was "BRIGHT". I'm like, these people are never gonna set different passwords in different computers and remember them for eternity. Definitely all passwords have to be the same, and they were! Which saved my time.
So, I shared the password with everyone in my class and now they can install any apps they want. Which made me so happy!
But You know, words travel fast! Just one day after the hacking incident, the Seniors ( & the juniors ) came to me with their laptops to find their forgotten password, which made me earn some money & eat some delicious foods, also got to meet some beautiful girls of our campus ^_^
& I used to go to other classes to hack those Admin passwords for fun ^_^ But I never told them the password until they pay me or feed me something delicious! ^_^
I miss those good old days! ^_^6
Me: I majored in Computer Science & Engineering
Someone: Are you the eldest son of your parents?
Me: Yes, why? and How did you know?
Someone: Your parents must have forced you to study CSE, right?
Me: No! They never forced me! I chose CSE by myself, because I loved science & technologies
( and a long boring conversation between me and someone, which is not that important )
In my country, usually parents force their children to become something they want ( Though, my mom still says from time to time, "I really wished, one of children to be a Doctor", as my siblings are also not interested to become Doctor :/ ), but my parents never really forced me anything like that, which I'm really thankful for.5
Anybody use LinkedIn? I have created my LinkedIn account probably 3-4 years ago. but since then, I probably have logged in there maximum 10-20 times :/
Not that the account is needed but still curious to know what people actually look for, in a LinkedIn profile, how to get recognized, etc etc. Care to share any tips? or anything helpful for a Noob-LinkedIn user?8
I don't know why, but I find making MEDICINES just as amazing as programming. We program computers & they program a human body or an animal body. AWESOME!
BTW, I really hope that the COVID-19 vaccine will soon be available for everyone.4
I was new to Android development back then. One of the project requirements was to implement a feature, that will prevent the users from turning off the phone. Even if the users tries to turn off, the phone shouldn't turn off (specially when the phone battery is sealed). So, I tried a method and it works! But later the users reported that the feature doesn't work! I mean, I can clearly see that the feature works in all the phones I have ever tested. But later I realized that the feature worked in Debug APK but not in Release APK. I mean, seriously? It's not even some kind of pro-guard issues that happens with GSON+Parcelable. So, I did it again using a new method. Again, it works in Debug but not in Release. After trying and failing multiple times, finally I found a solution! May be this bug alone took me almost a week to fix it!2
Anybody loves python? I don't know why, but the more I use python, the more I seem to hate it. Specially the poor naming of the functions are just horrible! specially when you've been following the #CleanCodePrinciple strictly.
Let me give some example:
What does even "len" or "str" mean normally? is it a variable or a function? can anybody imagine?
anybody can understand what these things are, whether a variable or a function.
in python some functions are like "dothisorthat" and some are "do_this_or_that" some are "doThisOrThat". I mean, why can't you just follow an unified rule?
and there's this fragmentation between python 2 and 3! whether in stackoverflow or in youtube/udemy, a lot of them used python 2 and some uses python 3. I mean, can't they have some BackworkSupports?20
While I was in university, I used to be a good programmer (which I still am :D ), my friends used to copy my code for the assignments. One day, the teacher (one of my my mentors) called me in his office and said, "this is your code".
I'm like, in my mind, "How did he know this?"
The teacher said, "If you let others copy your code one more time, I will fail you".
I nodded my head in affirmation.
Later I understood that I've been a "Clean code" principle follower even before I knew this term. So, it was pretty easy to differentiate my codes from my friends. The teacher is really a genius ^_^5
