What the actual fuck apple?
The SSD is soldiered on the new macbook "pro"?
Drives fail you know, and that thing costs an arm and a leg and even a fuckin liver or two.

While SSDs don't fail too often, they still fail. So I'm guessing Apple thought differently than what conventional wisdom says "not to solder SSDs to the logic board". What else is new?

That's why you don't buy Apple.

Well, this is what "the haters" have said for years

Probably to make it thinner. Haven't you heard? Computers and phones are now fashion accessories.

The new toy conversation goes like this:

"I've got a new laptop/phone. Look how thin/light it is!"

They been doing that since 2104

I'd rather buy an Omen, ROG or Alienware, like a thousand times before I get an Apple product

@NateTDenlinger SSD's have write leveling. You can only write to them so many times before it's buggered.

Most Ultrabook style PC's work this way.

Before the onboard storage, those MacBooks were actually quite good laptops for what it's worth. They were current gen and we're expandable. I still know people who are happy with their 2011 and 2012 models.
