Golang is like Erlang
Noone ever heard of them and likely one project justifying their existence was written

Golang is one of the most important languages when it comes to universal distribution - due to its static compilation.

    Docker, Prometheus, TICK stack, ...

Lots of use tools, all Golang.

If you have to put “lang” after your programming language name you did a fucking lazy job of naming it.

Look at the R people. Those fuckers are bold. They don’t call it Rlang. Absolutely awful name for finding anything, but they just stand there giving their audience the finger.

    Outstanding.

Erlang has become an integral part of Elixir and that's fine by me.

I'm afraid several massively popular programs are written in go, the one I'm personally acquainted with is Caddy.

I agree that the name is very poorly chosen but Go (that is the name of the language by the way not golang) is vastly more useful and used than Erlang. Plenty of people have heard about it.

Rust was far more the obscure kid with just Mozilla backing it. I'm glad it now gets the attention it deserves (before you start trashing that language too)

@lorentz didn't know caddy yet thanks.
Gitea, Hugo, benthos and mailhog come to mind

@electrineer ah but clang is a compiler I've had trouble building lol not a language

Not a very confidence inspiring name though
