Play NieR: Automata, XCOM games or darkest dungeons. Those are some of my top tier in the last 5 years or so

Chained Echoes. A pretty solid JRPG game

    Grow Home/Grow Up. Both gems.

Finishing Persona 5. It’s simple but fun if you like RPGs.
Replaying Elden Ring with a new character, waiting for the new content drop.
@Hazarth Nier is one of those games that I always wanted to get into because of how interesting it looks, but every time I try it I tune out after 5 hours.

    If you haven't already,

    play The Witcher 3

also i stumbled across Dyson Sphere Program, it's like Factorio, but you instead turn your whole local Cluster into a factory (if you like shit like that).

    you can also check out:
    Borderlands 1/2 (PewPew Comic style)
Heroes Might and Magic III (Turn based Strategy, Spam Skeletons)
Subnautica (Survival on Ocean Planet; Watch out for the Sunbeam),
Neon Abyss (2D Rogue lite, Bangin Soundtrack)

@ars1 Oh, is it because of the bullet hell mini-game-ish elements, the style fighting or the dialogues? When I installed the game first I couldn't stop playing personally. Mainly because I really adored the environment and style. The little robots and their culture is absolutely amazing. The world building is crazy good and god the music. I have the soundtrack in my phone to listen to from time to time. Won't say it's the best game ever or anything, but it's definitely the most interesting, ever changing world I got to explore.

    Atomic Heart.

@Hazarth i loved the ost and the art direction. The bullet sections are ok, but the initial quests were too fetchy for me. The initial section also has very little enemy variety, which made combat a bit boring for me. Not sure if it changes later.

@thebiochemic if only Dyson Sphere wasn't an EA game still

@jassole is it good? I've heard quite bad reviews about it

@ars1 there will be other enemies but the basic bots will not go away. Also because the overall map is quite small. The bots aren't really the central part of the game. In any case you can just switch to easy mode to just skip most of the fighting with little to no effort.

praey for the gods. quite fun, strong "shadow of the colossus"-vibes. currently in a humble bundle for $cheapAsFuck

📌 Maybe it's time to get back into playing games

@ars1 there is some variety, eventually you will fight all kinds of enemies, especially the boses are all quite unique. But you will also fight the Basic Robots throughout the game

@iiii Dyson Sphere Program, not Dyson Sphere. It's a chinese indie game. No EA.

    Chained Echos
    Hogwarts Legacy
Both great RPGs very different but great in their own ways.

Recently got Dying Light on sale, hooked me in.

@thebiochemic early access. The limbo of most games
  • 2
@iiii doesn't make the game worse. but yeah, i agree. Early access is the bane of existence for Gaming.

On the other hand, games like factorio, and both Subnautica games came out of there, and are great games. In fact a lot of early access games are good.

And the latest Settlers was _NOT_ an early access game, and sucks ass.

@thebiochemic it does compared to the finished one. I'd prefer to wait till release.

The only exception to EA ban is Slime Rancher, because their treatment of EA state is quite different: it's not an alpha/beta version but a release candidate with some content unfinished.

@thebiochemic also games from large game dev studios tend to suck hard nowadays (for a huge price also), so most of my portfolio are indies or older games from big studios which were relatively good.

I'm liking the look of Have a Nice Death, although not played it yet

The best dialogue driven rpg could be Disco Elysium.

On the opposite side we have the super simple highly enjoyable arcade game Vampire Survivors - 2d retro graphics, waves of enemies, highly addictive

I like how wholesome this thread is and how OP has had almost no up votes for it.

I'm getting old. The only big games I've enjoyed in the last couple of years were Spiderman (1,1.5 and 2) and The Last of Us 2.

Ive gone back to playing games like Fall Guys
