I have an idea. I know right, countless unfinished projects. Seriously though I feel like this one has merit, worth finishing for once. I am a very skilled developer, but I suck at all the other stuff that’s required to run, or even start, a successful business. Any advice?

    @electrineer :/.

    i'd say if you have the time, finish it. just dont expect to be successful right away. then you can make plans for how to publish it and figure out marketing stuff

    After going through this cycle many times. I realized if I'm thinking about business potential. Then I don't like the project enough.

    But if I really wanted to do it. Then I wouldn't think about it being a successful money generating idea. And that's the only way to motivate me going forward. Otherwise I don't have enough juice to keep going

    Unless you are a business person, I think turning it into a successful business idea means you don't care about it enough. At which point it might be worth outsourcing at least some of the work to AI or somebody else

    That's why so much devs are employees of companies they don't own.
