A productive mindset is an illusion...

That is now sold worldwide, at best in the form of good guides to self improvement, at worst just a marketing scam.

Why are you sad? Feeling blue, randomly? Do some lighter tasks, the boring stuff, documentation. Mundane things that don't require much focus.

Depressed? Take a day off, get some rest. Bottling shit up will fuck you up.

All in all, forcing oneself to be productive is just leading to one thing: Frustration. Be it coz one is to slow, one cannot focus enough, or anything else.

And we all know that frustration is the beginning of spiraling down.

So just don't be productive for a few days.

With some rest and relaxation, you'll be back and more effective than when you start spiraling down.

By the way, don't ever stress yourself out after taking it slow.

It's a common mistake that people take a break and try to give 200 % after coming back and immediately burn out coz the body cannot handle the stress.

80 % consistently is better than burnout. :-)

Why are you sad? Feeling blue, randomly?

I spent the whole day in my room. That could be a reason. As a result , Having Irrational thoughts. Being anxious and of course a little bit of Hopelessness to spice it up

One thing that helps me, and a lot of other people, is gratitude. Actually, some studies show that the regular expression of gratitude is the top contributor to the satisfaction of their work they do every day.

Steve Harvey says it pretty well: https://youtu.be/MCgb5tJ-Ybg

@sandeepbalan get out, stick your nose in some fresh cut grass, watch bees fucking flowers, get some fresh groceries, stroll over the market..... Just don't brood in the mood.

I would agree with @IntrusionCM - environmental change is proven to help facilitate a mood shift. Also, (and this is advice I should take myself more) look into studies on this man, a lot of this stuff has been extensively studied and is accessible to most people.

Sometimes it’s cool to think of all the trillions of organisms living inside you doing their absolute best to make sure u are able to do what you want in life

For me, whether indoors or outdoors, sometimes it's been intentionally sitting in one spot and I'll just stare at one spot on the ground for what feels like hours till what was prob 25 min has now turned into a full hour or half a day because like a snake eating it's own tale or a car in neutral parked at the top of a hill, once I start I kinda wont stop.

I usually get better at beating myself up or saying "what's the point" now that I have wasted so much time. The more I let the minutes pass by or drag on the more I tend to get "better" or stronger at flexing that muscle of whatever it is that is dragging my mood down, call it procrastination with a dash of sadness or self-criticism with a garnish of depression, point is habits build the structures of our lives, whether we live in a comfortable "productive" or "happy" home, or one made of dung, mud & disappointment. Maybe trying to form some new habits might help? But like anything, the start is always a bitch

In such cases I grab my bagpack, my water bottle, my thermoss with some joe, some euros and tell my fam that I'll be back before sun sets. And I stroll my ass off. 10.. 20.. 30km or as long as my legs can carry me. Preferably in the forest. If not possible - in the planes/fields. Worst case - getting lost in Vilnius, in places I'm not familiar with.

No cheating. No busses or bikes/scooters.

Let your legs do the work.

Then get a really good night sleep. And in the morning start working on things your mind set on during the work. I tend to make really good TODO lists when on longstrolls
