How the heck do people that setup custom login wifi networks never take into account that people have SSL-enabled sites as homepages??
Every damn time I want to connect to one on my phone I have to go into my own unsecure websites to be able to login. how do even not-it-interested people do this?
On a second thought this might as well be a chrome android rant, but it sure is annoying2 -
Have a freelance job where they require documentation of the code for later development. (+ I'd like to document my personal projects for practice)
Any web devs that could give some pointers on what kind of docs you would like to get if someone hands you a legacy project?
Obviously: comments in code and db structure and relationships1 -
Feature request
When you click the notif of "more comments on a rant you commented", could it scroll down to the bottom?
Preferrably to the last comment you saw but that would require some more tracking3 -
Feature request
Could we have some kind of way to see who created the post in the comments? Like an OP mark or a different color of the name or something?
When reading long quality rants I tend not to notice the username, and then when I'd like to engage in the discussion I have to scroll all the way up to check it.2 -

Lately I've started caring more about code standards and best practices, but as I am self taught I have never really learned them.. could anybody here be as helpful as to offer some insight as to how I could get a nice intro to the subject?
My languages of focus at the moment: PHP, Java (android)2 -
Every time I see someone praising the intelligence of the algo I imagine dfox and trogus sitting there laughing their asses of trying their hardest not to tell everyone it isn't that intelligent just has convenient timing
Almost like the texts in school that were written for fun but the teachers somehow made up the authors whole life story just by reading a line.
Apologies if the algo really is this intelligent allmighty creature2 -
Fucking wix advertisements! Getting real tired of the "want a website? Why not make it yourself?" ads. You're already logging all my fucking google searches to display relevant ad info so maybe wrap your head around the fact that I'm a web dev and make my own fucking sites??6

All this talk about automation makes me wonder; does dfox automatically upvote all rants that have few ++'s or does he actually upvote them himself?5

So jelly of all you people out there with a good enough internet connection to setup your own server environment at home. Sitting here with max 10mbit/s down and 2mbit/s up7

Imagine being a gitlab employee scrolling through devRant being the reason for 90% of todays rants6

With all the talk about coffee around I feel like a magician for programming without having tasted a single drop of coffee in my life5

Are there any ways to pin a rant to view it later on? Would be great to store the ones I find genuinely funny, not just by copying their URL..2

"Then you get a message saying the software is no longer supported, but that's ok"
