Bet you are gluten intolerant

British people also have a tendency to call things by the major contributor’s name. E.g. Hoover, Chesterfield, and in this case Crapper

@jestdotty I’m confused are you saying it should be money over everything? Because with Ukraine it’s not about the money, ostensibly it’s about a nation’s right to self-determination and that if first-aggressors are always punished, then invasion, starting wars, and conquest becomes much less attractive.
Now we all know the reality is more complex, backdoor deals etc, but the west isn’t buying Ukraine in this way. -
Do you eat fibre?
-
@b2plane you need to get it looked at by a doc. Could be anything from too rough tp to fatal
-
Somebody get the geogessur guy on this
-
@retoor they don’t need to care, you just need good enough footing to make them settle.
-
Dude don’t be a hypochondriac on top of everything else it’s probably an ingrown hair
-
@retoor currently in like sweatpants which were brought new.
But basically all my jeans are 2nd hand
I’d say around 40% of my shirts.
Thrifted / vintage clothes seem to be pretty popular at least up in North American cities. There are many factors to it. I think in NA we have many privileges, but we have gotten shafted hard on declining average clothing quality on newer clothes. -
@retoor clothes (excluding underwear) needing to be new is something I haven’t heard before.
Thrifting is fun and washing machines exist -
@mostr4am Frank Herbert is the author of Dune
-
@mostr4am ah the Frank Herbert solution the only thing to love more than the glory of Islam is cocaine

Yea but if we buy ourselves 50-100 years planting trees it might be enough to get fusion power online.
Of course we dont need fusion, fission and renewables can get the job done, but it might take fusion to be such an obvious choice for cost benefit analysis to be obvious enough. -
@tosensei fuck I’m doubly unworthy
-
@jestdotty @Demolishun yall believe anybody with photoshop 😂
-
lol what if that was just for the interview
-
A thought is to not worry about it as much. For work go do something totally different. Work on a boat, work at a resort or something that puts you in contact with a lot of people you wouldn’t normally be in contact with.

If you are drinking coffee in the morning stop. Your morning grogginess will go away. Save the coffee for the afternoon sleepiness. Caffeine bocks sleep hormone receptors.
Just try to get it in before 3pm. It takes a long time for caffeine to get out of the system. -
@netikras fasting and extended fasting definitely has some interesting effects on the body.
The consensus is to eat a Mediterranean diet and yogurt but that may only apply if you also live a Mediterranean lifestyle of not stressing too much and frequently looking off to the seaside.
This isn’t possible for everyone and doesn’t factor in specific goals. There were recent studies over intermittent fasting that showed elevated heart risks, but there are risks from not fasting as well.
Personally I think fasting really can help with your relationship to food. It’s easy to get addicted with the high availability of cheap processed calories.
Fixing that and allowing your body to process out the junk is a big help. And as you alluded to, breaking a fast properly is so important. I imagine I’ve done some damage breaking a few with a feast of beer and burgers. -
@Lensflare how do the Reddit readers get around this?
-
@kiki yea this is a very middle class (predominantly) white western view to call this censorship in any form. This is a company blacking out phrases to protect its bottom line. Not the government arresting bc you sent a mean tweet about the president
-
You could try Bumble for friends!

It’s developed under capitalism, of course it’s exploitative. (Note this is not inherent anti capitalism discourse, exploitation isn’t the worst thing in all cases)
So this brings me to the question:
In Soviet Russia: does SCRUM Agile you?
Though it would be interesting to look into software practices developed under wildly different incentive structures. -
My plus plus went away and has not come back yet so we shall see
-
@Demolishun it feels like zero when you make 10s of millions per year. These are the out of touch people controlling huge portions of our lives 🙃
-
@donkulator yea the judgment if to embrace mediocrity is good advice comes from where one’s standards of excellence are
-
Gotta be realistic on the workplace. And there’s marginally decreasing returns at play too.
Shit code, shit pay = grind for experience job jump ship asap
Great code, shit pay = charity work, stick it out a bit longer and get good skills
Great code, great pay = recognize it when you got it. Great code is not perfect.
Shit code, great pay = you’ve gotten golden handcuffed, you aren’t really growing but they’re paying you to give up and maintain their monster -
@Demolishun setting aside the intentional misunderstanding of how floating currency, profit motive, and the motive for a social credit system existing, there is zero evidence that social programs cause this dependency at scale.
-
@kobenz you did not just tell the gunshot victim to poke holes. Mans got enough problems with holes, he don’t need anymore.

I couldn’t have said it better. I’m experiencing something very similar as I reckon with my own substance management.
We must accept that the past is out of our control. We must access what of the present is in our control. We must examine what actions we can take to self actualize the defeated visions of the past with the controllable elements of the present and future.
