hardships of being campus IT: took two full days to set up a PCMCIA wifi card because I had to circumvent the software required and it actually just wouldn't install the Intel software. also printer decided it didn't want to work anymore, ate a print job by retracting the paper it printed (and that's not even a thing it's supposed to be able to do) then ceasing to function.
thankfully I was the only one able to revive it, but the process was i n f u r i a t i n g2 -

when you find a tool or library that does exactly what you need, but it's not documented at all
or worse, when it's "cross-platform" but all the build/install steps are made assuming you're using a Mac

going through a rewrite is hell. the first stage you will be disgusted with how they layed out their code, contemplate the dump, eventually rewrite the entire thing, then cry throughout the entire process into your gallons of therapy iced tea.
I don't even know what half of these API calls are for. -
unpopular opinion: javascript has broken standards, and nobody corrects it. people use these frameworks and shit with 600 dependencies, then can't figure out how to update their application when things go out of date. now people are expecting you to use NPM to make a - - > static <- - website9

people always complain about semicolons but I don't think I've ever had a semicolon issue cuz of ide's. but I'm plagued by tons of other stupid mistakes, like forgetting to initialize my ArrayList<>'s in java from null to empty..1
