I am fucking out of shape. I hate it. I also dislike gyms and exercising doing some repetitive boring set of things. I feel like exercise should be a functional thing. My mind has issues so I end up not exercising. I walk every day 2 to 3 times a day at work. So I am getting some exercise, but not enough. I also like to play games. I saw a reference to a "Skyrim workout". I thought, hey I should look into that. So I found a couple of workouts tied to game mechanics. I am going to start with the simpler one until I see how this will "work out"... If this is successful I think I will create a mod that people can customize their workouts. Less fatty gamers unite!

I have also changed my diet to mostly non carbs. I allow some carbs, but not most. I feel better in general. I just need to actually move more. Have found I don't really get hungry anymore, or not as much.

Anyway, here is the simpler workout I found:

    Two words.

Beat saber. Contact me for instructions if you want to pirate it. (Not that I don't support them, but VR market is predatory).

Just playing 3 songs in expert beat saber is like 45 mins of workout.

And, for those who would say it's only arms flailing, if you play it right, you have to actually dance, and it's pretty exhausting.

@CoreFusionX yeah, we used to do dance dance revolution with the pads. We had 4 pads and I was learning how to make better once for cheap. That was like 10 years ago. I thought about going vr, but have space and room usage issues right now. Definitely good idea.

Going to do 30 seconds planking (or more). 10 seconds is way too short.

I had DDR too, but my retarded sister stole my mats.

Go out on foot and find a real dragon while carrying loads of equipment like swords and maces

@jestdotty I was just doing walks. Then I started lowering my height a bit. By the time my normal walk is done my legs feel it really good. So a 10 minute walk with slightly bent legs to get lower feels good. I definitely breath harder. Then the stretch after is amazing.

I have done a few of the exercises on this list today and I feel great. I think this is going to incentivize me.

I feel very self conscious doing these in the house. I will have to get over this.

@Demolishun don’t ever feel self conscious about improving health, everyone starts somewhere!

    You don't like sports?

Sometimes activity is not enough, change your diet or eating habits

Currently our company has this stupid back to office policy. So i took the opportunity and do 1h breaks, to reduce the amount of bullshit i have to put up with.

Good thing we have a park nearby. I just do a walk through that park for that 1h.

I run outside, trying to notice changes day to day. A workout for both my body and my memory

Find an exercise that you enjoy, there is no point in going to the gym if you hate it there. There are so many other options to try, like hiking, climbing, biking, etc.. (Also imo. going to the gym is so fucking booooooring, once novelty of it wore off I started to dislike it - I much prefer other ways of exercise).
