@coder67 am I right in thinking Ubuntu uses gnome now, instead of unity? Does that have any advantages?
-
coder673447y@j4cobgarby I believe your thing of Ubuntu 17.10, their non-LTS version. I'm using 16.04 which still uses unity. From what I've heard, 17.10 is supposed to use less resources, but don't quote me on that! 16.04 works great anyways

@coder67 oh that makes sense, yeah I used to use Ubuntu and I do think it works nicely

coder673447y@C0D4 don't u find virtual machines a bit slow? That's why I switched to a dual boot system.

Win10 host,
Mint Os and Sierra in vms,
and a bunch of Centos LAMP servers for development that usually run headless.
Throwing this up on dual monitors makes life easy. -
C0D4669027y@RedBorg there’s a bit of chop when running Sierra with but I don’t tend to run multiple desktop vms at the same time.
Just running mint and 1 or 2 servers is perfectly fine. -
C0D4669027y@Ayles not really, it took me a bunch of digging around to get it semi working and at full resolution.
Still haven’t got vram working past 8mb though.
