As a writer, I wouldn't be surprised if the FBI barged into my house, judging by my search history.
(In case you don't get it, the search history of a writer and serial killer are identical.) -
@kickass
If only we had privacy, then I wouldn't have to use tor browser since it's too slow.
But then again, I don't want to be accused and arrested for murder, so I'll continue using it. -
@Alice
I'm curious as to why you'd risk getting caught by the police to search that up if you're not a writer. It can be used as a good excuse tho. -
@Alice
Ah, that's true I suppose. I guess I'm just paranoid because of this one time I had to search something up for my manuscript at school. I was using the chromebooks and the teachers were wondering why I wanted to know how long does chloroform take affect for. I did get in trouble tho. After that, I've been cautious with my searches. Getting caught by the school isn't as serious as getting caught by the cops. -
@Alice
I recently made a tumblr blog about murder as a form of marketing for my debut novel. I hope no one gets the wrong idea. -
@Alice
Yeah, I was a very stupid freshman who thought my school didn't care about what we searched. -
@Alice
Marketing!!
I don't like the word advertising, I feel like that term has a negative connotation to it than the term marketing.
But yeah, I should probably add that somewhere. -
@Michelle in that case you can hide you are a serial killer by also being a writer.
-
@Michelle
They store info on everyone, but tend to knock down doors when there's extra evidence, otherwise they'd have to knock down every door.
Most people have probably searched "how to build a bomb" out of curiosity at some point, maybe even together with "can you buy uranium on the dark web". -
Neoxas2387y@Michelle Thank you for my fact of the day! That is quite a weird and unexpected coincidence
-
@Alice As a chemist I quite enjoyed this recent video -- https://youtube.com/watch/...
Quite reckless though without a good fumehood/glovebox though... -
bondman2427y@Michelle wait, you are writing a book too on a serial killer.. is this something all devs do or think about..are there only 2 of us
-
@bondman
It's probably just us lol. Not all devs are interested in literature, let alone a dark genre of it. :) -
@bondman
I finished it two years ago, last year I was editing, and this year I'm in the querying process.
How about yours? -
bondman2427y@Michelle getting there not even close though. Going through a cycle of write , read and then realize it was garbage so rewrite it.
Integrating use of latest gadgets for a plot hasn't exactly been easy -
@Alice
Absolutely that counts!
Mines also focuses on the psychological aspect of the killer. It's complicated to explain but to be brief, his brain has an on and off switch for empathy amd judgment. -
@bondman
I understand your pain. Writing a book is a difficult task, and it's more difficult when you edit and query and talk to agent and etc.
I've been through it teice and survived. As long as you enjoy writing it, then it'll be easier. -
ptls441667y@Michelle ikr! I'm also writing a story and the other day i was googling how long it took a body to decompose in river 😂
-
@Alice two friends of mine were talking about hiding a dead body using the company internal chat system, which was monitored because it was a service desk. They did it to "troll those who were watching it". Might not have been the brightest idea but nothing happened.
Being monitored luckily doesn't always mean every single second anyway.
Unless you're a suspect of course.
