The family thing might be nice to have.
Personally, I wouldn't know.
Donald Duck-wise, haven't seen this one in decades.
Modern Family was actually decent.
That said, I take a good horror above all. -
retoor15936d@D-4got10-01 You made a smile on my face. I was talking today about Netflix and their vision about families and i was like 'except Modern family' :P You just literally said the same. Wtf. But imagine how bad a movie studio is if two seperate people name the same series about the one series that doesn't have a broken family. Literally everything else is broken. What country are you from btw? I'm starting to get interested.
Edit: Donald Duck, i'm such a fan, i have a collection worth 3.000,- of special edition books :P But i'll probably never sell them. They gain more emotional value over time than in cash. I'm not a spoiled kid. Never had a game console or whatever, but then - here, a limited collection of Donald Duck books worth several thousand :P Crazy huh? And in the end it became my favorite posession. Arent parent's great often? I'm 34 but still feel as a kiddo often with such great parents. -
@retoor Props on having the collection.
I tend to collect more games, but movie box sets are also neat.
A few years back I'd imported Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers.
I am so proud of this.
...Gummi Bears too...
We are /* almost */ neighbors.
https://devrant.molodetz.nl/Map_Wor...
there seems to be this Ich Liebe Nena ball in-between us.
I _might be_ wearing this weird-looking hat w/ wings...
/* You'd be forgiven for thinking those are attached to the helmet... */
...can't remember where I found the WorldBalls pic, but loved it.
Stereotypes are funny...
/* As long as ppl don't take them seriously. */ -
me and my bf went through Christmas horror movies and watched one. should watch the otherssss
family values? MURDER VALUES!
he can't find treevenge =-=
I think it's lame
but maybe I'd be wrong -
@jestdotty https://imdb.com/title/tt0230600/... ?
If yes, then watched it a few years back.
Wasn't bad. -
For me, and mind you, my family ain't perfect by any means but it certainly is *big*, we have an unspoken rule that didn't really apply to me but does now, which is, "don't burden the children with the sins of the parents".
Our parents could hate each other's guts, but would always be there for the nephews/nieces, no matter what.
That's how I see family. Don't really watch TV so can't speak about portrayals, but still. Family is who you choose it to be. If the biological ones are worthy, do cherish them, otherwise, nah -
retoor15936d@CoreFusionX So interesting what you say here. Don;t burden the the kids with sins of parents. This was the situation: my mother is mad at my dad because my dad didn't want to burden the kids (me & my brother) with what was going on with her. She was (/is) bipolar but more on the depressive side. She told me that a few days ago, she was here on first christmas day. And I was like YES, that did my dad well, because kids feel like a kind off gods and immortal. The worst thing you can do to a human (or kid) is take them the immortal feeling. You should NEVER explain to a kid what depression is. Don't ever give them the IDEA that's it's possible to kill yourself. But without explaining psychiatrists, what was the plan - my brother and I did got introduced to this terrible psychological issue. End result, 20 years later, I ended up several times in mental hospital / arrested for psych mania (no depr). Brother cut ties with most family. Why? My mother DID burden us. End of story.
-
retoor15936d@D-4got10-01 Kurwa? :P Hah, fun. I once wanted to move to Krakau with my Ukrainian partner. I wanted to move east because I like the eastern mentality more than the Dutch ones. Eastern people work hard but do prioritize life above work. And in Netherlands that's a bit different. But that's just my experience. Everyone thinks they're prioritizing work too much I guess. And, I think we all do often. Also, what I liked about east Europe, they know so much more about their country and its history than the Dutch do. And I don't know if it's the same in Poland, but in Ukraine (where i worked for quite a while) everyone did read. The Netherlands is the worst reading country of EU. It has a reason btw. It's a culture difference but east europeans seem so much knowledgeable than I was used to from western countries.. It was even intimidating. I shared this with my dad, and he confirms that, having much experience with Russians. We had native Russians living with us when i was kiddo.
-
retoor15936d@D-4got10-01 but long story short, smth happened to me causing my bank to freeze my account, ended up on the street, homeless, no money, and an Ukrainian friend who knows that he would never see me again probably (we won't he moved to singapore) sent me 2000,- to stay in some hotels and buy a phone and when I had access to my bank account back and life stabalized, he refused to give his bankaccount, he didn't want the money back while 2000,- is kinda 'nothing' to me. He really didn't want it back. He just gave it, while knowing to probably never see me again. He gave me faith in humanity forever. I always had faith in people, he just confirmed it giving me the ultimate faith. We did not even have a lot of contact after that - I spoke him recently, I told him that I've bought the last 'Hemel & Aarde' in existance, something we drunk together much in Ukraine (rare Dutch beer, miracle we had it there). We talked a bit about AI. That's it. So, agian, no gain for him. Years later.
-
retoor15936d@D-4got10-01 conclusion, he really did give 2000,- euro to someone who he would never meet again. Even more special, we worked for different companies. We went to the same most expensive whiskey bar daily from L'viv. Why there? Well, for me, I needed a place where people spoke English, and form him, he was just rich enough. IT guys lived as gods in Ukraine. We got discount in that bar as IT people. IT companies gave cards to employees so they could drink with discount in connected bars. Crazy huh? A drinking card from the company?. We talked and talked every night pure about IT and did drink party and work together with laptops ons the bar. We were the same, workaholics, alchoholics (now i'm a a very rare drinker) and party animals. We really found each other. But I have no idea what I did that was worth 2000,- just to give away. That's a huge amount of money there. Even in NL it is for many people. Maybe I spiced up his life on the right time? You never know what you do to people
-
retoor15936d@CoreFusionX but want to emphasize, I had a great and amazing youth besides the mother situation. Nothing to feel sorry for. I'm sure I had an above average good youth. I do not complain. I just wanted to say about that burden part 'exactly'. There was a burden dropped on me and my brother and it escalated BIG time.
Picture of my family in general is: hard workers, help eachother with stuff like house construction, cutting wood etc. Everyone wealthy. Do not help eachother with problems because there are none. And when I got problems was the moment I found out that we DO help each other :) That's why this happy rant :). I was the only one in the whole family who ever needed help. I didn't know that they could help. I had fun with family, but the appreciation started after 30's of age.
Family is a great concept. Fuck Netflix. -
@retoor Yes, Kurwa! You're quite right ;-).
Cool word... very versatile.
For the knowledge about the country.
I'm !sure. I don't poll people on that. Same w/ religion, though it feels like there are a lot of Catholics here.
Personally, !a patriot.
While I can find history interesting, I'm more interested in the history of some other countries.
But it depends.
A few weeks ago I had finished binge-watching Vikings... so Ragnar is kind of fresh in my mind.
I got curious, so wikipedia'd the guy.
Japan has an interesting culture.
...probably more, but those two are at the forefront of my mind.
Work-life - probably depends on the line of work.
Game dev tends to suck at that.
Otherwise people do tend to have a healthy balance on that front. -
@retoor Fuck. That's unfortunate to hear.
!gonna probe about it.
I can say that I had... something similar, I guess.
Definitely !same.
Apparently there's at least one situation, where even though you are a normal, upstanding citizen, paying taxes, bills on time etc, they can call you a debtor && basically rob you of your money, because 'you owe them'.
In short, I lost roughly 3k that way.
Fun stuff... especially when you're in-between jobs.
Props on having a good friend like that, btw. -
retoor15936d@D-4got10-01 I'm interested in Japan too because they say they're "further" than we are here and I can't barely imagine that because I think we already went to far with some stuff (let's not talk about that 😁) but I'm a bit conservative. My village is so conservative that Gideon van Meijeren lives here, one of the biggest rightwingets of NL. Politically I have no alignment at all. I'm totally in for social benefits because there's money enough, but also build build build (climate is scam imho, that we can do smth about it at least) what is right wingy. On subjects like racism, don't read the India papers on my website 😂😂😂 it's generated 😂😂 And true in my experience 😬 Wanted to piss off Sid. I have Indian stepsister so I have credits :p
What are you doing tonight? -
retoor15936d@D-4got10-01 everything is alright, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger situation it was. Like any situation in your life, it benefited in some way in the end towards personality.
Heh, being in between jobs suck, so you had such situation between jobs? I never had. I mean - I don't work now officially and won't for next half year or so - but will have job in second again I think. LinkedIn sucks, but thanks to that, I never have to search.
Sigh, 2:00 AM. I gonna work on the keylogger plot.py script for you, the doc. I need a small task. Did you try the new binary? It should list all devices now. You could monitor your power button even 😂 -
@retoor Oh yeah. Japanese tend to go overboard w/ work... or so I hear.
World stuff - I am kind of the mindset that 'whatever the problem is we'll figure it out somehow.'
So climate wise, at some point when / if it gets too hot or before that happens, somebody will come up w/ a solution.
...either that or we end up nuking ourselves into oblivion.
!Entirely sure whether it is a scam.
All in all I don't think about it too much either way.
Just attempting to !make it worse, segregating trash && whatnot, but !going overboard w/ the whole planet in crisis thing.
I'd love to say I'm chilling... but no - trying to get the fucking ollama to work in another window. -
@retoor not faith in humanity
pass it along (there used to be a reddit story about a Mexican about this but I'm too lazy to find it)
fuck humanity
humans are shit
but kindness of strangers exists. brighten up someone's day anonymously. you don't give back to who gave you. but help someone in the future. pass it along -
retoor15936d@D-4got10-01 what doesn't work about ollama? I know a lot about it. It's just a oneline rright? :P
Is this great polish guy (named Mr. Polska) known in Poland? https://youtube.com/watch/... -
The in-between jobs - yeah.
Previous game dev job sucked very much, so I just had to leave.
Either that or slit my wrists.
The company had made a deal w/ a Canadian devil.
https://youtube.com/watch/...
&& there was only so much I could take of those terrible freemium apps
https://youtube.com/watch/...
So almost 1y w/o job during which time I burned through all of my savings, unfortunately.
A few factors were at play then that made it possible that it had lasted this long.
All in all I somehow bounced back... finally. -
retoor15936d@jestdotty look at yourself, you are not shit. And you're not alone. That's statistically impossible. I think everyone has a few clones walking around.
-
@retoor nope got to find out how alone I was when I got sick. before I at least had wishful thinking
and honestly before then I've had job PTSD like 8 years and nobody gave a shit except to make fun of me -
retoor15936d@D-4got10-01 "So climate wise, at some point when / if it gets too hot or before that happens, somebody will come up w/ a solution." EXACTLY MY THOUGHT. Wow.
I will watch your youtube video's after I did the keylogger docs. I need sum progress. -
retoor15936d@jestdotty oh my god, you should've known what happened to me today, i got threatened by someone, seriously. WHy?> Because that person thought I was weak too. I've met him more than a year ago while I was totally weak because of the heavy haldol medication. Because of that, that person thought he could do / say whatever he wanted. Today, he contacted me to buy some ****. I was like eh,,, NOPE. And then he lost his mind. Totally insane. But I'm not weak anymore and put him on his place instant and EOF. He was shocked, he didn't expect. I'm almost totally recovered and as powerful as ever before! This smoll doggy doesn't bark, it attack!
Such a sick situation, some big construction guy vs. little me. Some guys are SO WEAK. It was a friend of a neighbor. But I destroyed his world today, I told him some truth about something, that his friends screwed him over for YEARS :P A boss once said to to me, it's better knowing you don't have something, than thinking you have smth :P -
@retoor I'll give you a summary: South Park roasts the freemium games.
Loved it, even though I was in that shitty business.
I don't really have any say in what I have to work...
Either that or leave for another job. -
retoor15936d@jestdotty in his case, it was that he was wrong thinking having friends, in reality he didn't have. They all screwed him over hardcore, financially. I told him that today and made fun of it, and that's why he went mental, totally insane. I told him, that he shouldn't be mad at me and that he should have other priorities.
So yeah, you don't have friends, happy new year fucker. :P -
retoor15936d@jestdotty @D-4got10-01 I just ran 4760.751213550568 seconds AI script on the most expensive openai LLM. 79 minutes. What do you guys think that it costed? :P
-
@retoor Bossy.
Might've given you the update in the other thread.
In short, current situation is:
- ollama has been installed.
- example.py _seems_ to be properly made.
- attempting to run it halts @ import ollama 'no module named ollama'. -
@retoor I have seen that rant of yours regarding the costs of LLMs.
But I don't feel like digging it up again to answer this question ;-) -
retoor15936d
-
retoor15936d@D-4got10-01 oh, you only have to do
pip install matplotlib and you're done.
From now on, every time you want to run the statistics generate by AI and the graphs, you only have to:
`make plot`. (not .py, just `make plot`).
Type a few things and execute it. You'll see what happens. It generate two images and it will generate AI description of what you've typed.
Maybe you need to create these two directories manually:
logs_plain
logs_summaries -
retoor15936d@D-4got10-01 you forgot source
.venv/bin/activate
don't use pipx.
So first:
sudo apt install python3-venv python3.12-pip (or python3-pip?)
.venv/bin/activate
pip install ollama
pip install matplotlib -
retoor15936d@D-4got10-01
you're missing python3-venv: install it with apt:
sudo apt install python3-venv
sudo apt install python3-pip
I made a full install script: https://molodetz.nl/retoor/tikker/...
If you do downloda that using wget, chmod +x it and do ./install.sh, it will run without any error. I'm 95% sure :P
Will you come to matrix? I think you can just use the web browser for it. -
@retoor Keep crying about me. Good to know that I have gotten a rent-free place in your head. gg ez.
-
retoor15936d@SidTheITGuy you're too old for gg ez. Don't worry, you'll be the one paying the 'rent'
-
@retoor how exactly do you reckon? I seem to be way too comfortable living in your head though.
Thinking about getting a sofa and a table in your head so I can put my feet up and relax. -
retoor15936d@SidTheITGuy why did you betray me out of noiwhere? It's not healthy. Why would you. And than this celebrating about it. I have no idea what is going on.
-
@retoor I gave you plenty of chances of me wanting to take back what I did, and I explained what I was trying to do.
It was a fair criticism. But how you over-reacted and said shit about me, blew my mind.
There's a line you don't cross when you're taking your anger out on someone. Fine, I'll admit that I betrayed you and there could've been things I could have done better instead of what I did.
But you said some shit that hurt me like hell. And you started to delete your comments on my previous rants. Don't think that I didn't notice it.
Tell you what, I apologize and I own responsibility for what I did.
Plain and simple. if you're not willing to let it go and get over it, I'm gonna resort to what I do best. Be a troll back to people who are behaving that way towards me.
But let me warn you, while I do apologize, I won't let you take advantage of it. If you use it against me, well then, that tells me that you've burnt the bridge. -
@retoor I mean this implies you knew he was being screwed over by his friends and didn't say anything prior
-
@retoor
'Is this great polish guy (named Mr. Polska) known in Poland? https://youtube.com/watch/...'
Damn it, missed this one yesterday.
/* A lot was going on then. */
Jeg undskylder.
Personally I haven't known about the guy.
Haven't seen any billboards or adverts, either.
Then again, I'm a metal man myself && don't care about the usual social media, so I could've missed any hype geared toward the guy.
It's quite possible that there are fans of the guy over here, for the name alone. -
BordedDev565d@jestdotty Not just India, but asia in general from what I know that why apologies are rare on that side. It has also gotten more common in the west (since it's admissible in court, except Canada unless they're on social media)
-
BordedDev565d@jestdotty Yep, from what I have heard, if a country is hierarchical (e.g. Japan and Korea) the blame is moved downwards to the lower rungs, and they have to apologize and bear the brunt of repercussions (without complaining or revealing the truth).
I'm the “your words are meaningless to me unless you change, and if you change you don't have to apologize” unless you cause me direct harm (e.g. checking in broken code vs blaming me for said code) -
retoor15935d@lopu I'm the author of a lot of shit. I'm currently working on something that you would appreciate I guess. It has technically some overlapping with your stuff. I am revreating blazor with python!
It's a seamless integration between server and client. Every javascript value and event are shared with server. The server always holds the truth.
As you can see in screenshot, prompt and answer are just of type `component`. It can be anything. In this case, they are textarea's. Only the name is important, it should match the html id's.
But this code, is all you need to have a working form.
I needed a web application but i just can't see rest or an API anymore, so i'm deleting the whole api part. Only python will have business logic now. In python you can run times and do: set_attr, set_data, set_style. That's all you need. Every on_ prefixed function is called if triggered in js. Like on_click, mousemove, etc. Automatic, no coding. -
retoor15935d@lopu this is the only HTML what is attached. So, my backend doesn't care about the HTML structure at all. That's just frontend. So you're totally free to do what you want, server side and client side. It works exactly as I wanted.
-
retoor15935d@lopu what you see here on this picture are some text boxes that are counting every second, some random text generator that streams text from right to left as fast possible. It's a kinda load test. The left upper textbox is a calculator that live executes your calculation afther the '='. The 'none' link is the display status of some other element. You can toggle hide / show. Ofcourse you can, because you have the set_style comment as mentioned above.
Benefits of this tech:
- it's secure, business logic is only server side.
- It's consistent, several api call's mostly not.
- State is on the server, you can refresh the page and it continues exactly where it left off.
- I can literally put a database call under a button now.
- It is initially just html rendering, so good for google. But this code actually is made for applications. My first application I'll build with it is a log file browser.
It's almost complete, that's it all!
