@Hammster Maybe, but Chrome isn't the only thing that can use RAM, you also need it for other programs, and 'free' RAM is often used for the operating system's disk cache.

suprano38307yI was going to say Chrome is greedy until I saw the (80) next to Chrome. Either way, we all still know Chrome is greedy. 😂😁

I got 32gigs.
My chrome allows itself 2 - 5gb. Dont keep the habit of having tons of tabs open. Doesnt bring you forward. -
Tobyvw6987yTbh. A lot of websites nowadays are small applications, and your browser is running around 80 of them.

@dontbeevil FF isnt that memory thin too. The browser is effectivly A render engine a VM a JIT and in case of chrome even a container for applications. In addition to that browser have to come with a lot of memory hungry components like a database for local storage and it needs a lot of assets that have to be highly accesible, resulting in data that is in RAM while the session is active. And some pages tend to only consist of big/medium sized images aka imgur.
Another thing is people dont get is that they could use Chromium instead with disable RTC and removed google initgration. Just saying 🦄
And truth to be told, FF will probably use the same amount of RAM once Servo is fully intigrated and holyjit is used as JS interpreter. And it does not really matter someone editing videos will probably have 16GB+ of RAM thise will not be fully used unless he edits 8k videos and then that fucker can surely upgrade to 32GB or more.

... Even developer have around 8GB in general and the same principle applies. The thing that is more important for the workforce are good running, performance tools not resource optimized ones.
The thing i say this all is that majority of people talking about what browsers should do or do wrong is that they never looked into the code and architecture of one. And this is practically the same thing trump does do you really want to be trump? -
@FinlayDaG33k I've recently read up on this and they already managed to pay back everyone. Still, such a major security breach...
