    Mostly used and a nice language to work with is completely different.

    PHP is taught in schools early on, thats why there are more developers able to work with PHP and that makes it a good language for companies to work with.

    @Codex404 schools also teach java and asp.net, the latter being the main focus after it is first tought at my school

    @RicoNijeboer thats true, but in my experience 80% of the schools teach PHP, and then its 20% C#, 20% java, 20% serverside javascript, 40% something else.

    @blackfaded @maxsimon

    Node is a runtime environment amongst other things, but in its self is an extension of JS, which we all know vanilla Js to be client side, sooooo... technically in a strangely satisfying way node is not explicitly a server side language, but let’s not start a war over it.

    @Codex404 lol in my high school we learned very basics with VB.Net, SAS, and C# with XNA framework. In college it was like 80% java, 10% C#, 5-8% "whatever you want just make a functional product", and one class with ruby on rails.

    Also I use exactly 0% of that on a daily basis and I code angular professionally now 😝

    Yeah and a lot of houses still have lead paint in them. Does that mean lead paint is ok?

    Please don't blame me but what is the problem with PHP?

    @LuxARTS the inconsistency in their naming is my reason to not like PHP but Laravel makes it up really well because it has helper functions with consistent naming.
