Asbetha6725yGood old Office Libre ... no need to make it too fancy IMO
Just make sure it's not overloaded and that the important information are on the top -
@Asbetha I guess that's one of the issue with me, I want to fit in a lot of things. I guess I'll have to give a thought first.
-
Libre office, simple and clean.
You could use Canva if you want something fancier. -
C0D4669025yWebpage. Export to PDF.
The short version is 3 pages, how on earth are you decompressing down to 1 and expect to get a job?
Unless it's in compression algorithms... I mean that could work. -
I think sales made it in office.
When I started I had to give my resume (non existent) and they made a piece of art from my experience there. -
haze2705y@dmonkey Me too!
I like how you get a pdf with an XML out of it. That you can import directly to make changes (no need to keep docx/odt file AND pdf file). And how it's already cleanly formatted!
The only thing that irks me is their wysiwyg that is not really wysiwyg (some spacing is off). I'd prefer some bbcode/html subset/even markdown mode as well. -
dmonkey21955yI never noticed that... I used it last time 2 years ago. I need to update my cv ๐
Of course I didn't download the xml so I'll have to start from scratch lol -
SomeNone7115yIn the past I used LaTeX to generate a nicely typeset CV but nobody really wants it in print anymore (though they probably print it at HR when you apply for a job), plus importing a LaTeX-generated CV in LinkedIn or another automated site is a PITA, so I switched to using LibreOffice.
I guess Markdown would work as well, I could take it as a project to learn it… -
devTea219105yMicrosoft word, remember don’t make it stylish or anything, make it easy to read, easy to find what is your skills, your bio, your projects, and your work experience. Recruiters go through hundreds resume everyday, your art isn’t going to be a factor, make it easy for them, and they will probably give you a shot

C0D4669025y@Jilano could be a country thing.
3 is the standard max here, but when they want you to list all relevant experiences within the roles, without keyword stuffing, it gets complicated over 5-10 years to keep it short.
1 page usually suggests a junior or a handful of years.
My last resume reached 5 pages, I had to condense and reword a lot of things to get it back under. -
@C0D4 yeah even in my country HRs want it to be 1 page long (at least for fresher like me). Anything more than that they get disinterested.

C0D4669025y@Jilano how else do we have time for surfing ๐โ๏ธ , kangaroo boxing and emu riding?
What do you think we actually do down here? Work?? -
C0D4669025y@Jilano ๐คdo we?
I mean like sure, you're not an Aussie without a beer in your hand, a 6 pack strapped to your back and bottle of hard stuff in the other (rum, whisky ect), oh don't forgot the beanie and thongs, no not that thong..... ๐คจ the feet kind.
But, I find this a pretty average day. Like we haven't even made it to 10am by this point.

Where the fuck y'all make your resume? My current one is made in Photoshop to accommodate things on one page.
