My mouses right button kept double clicking. This makes it really hard to play minecraft. It was a cheap logitech mouse from a wireless keyboard/mouse combo. So I went to the store to find a new one. Almost all the wireless mice were gone. Apparently WFH people hit walmart. I didn't want another single wireless mouse. This would mean I need the adapter for the keyboard (for keyboard mouse combo) and the new mouse plugged in. My computer is a laptop so there are not a lot of those slots. So I looked for a bluetooth mouse. Only one there and it was a sucky Razer. I have not liked Razer since they required people to register their software with an account before using their drivers. This really made me avoid this brand like the plague. So I finally settled on a wired gaming mouse. It has a nice long 6ft cord so it works with my setup. It is a G502 Hero. It works really nicely without drivers. I will be testing with drivers tonight. I usually buy el cheapo mice so this is new to me. So far so good.

Open up the mouse and try blowing some air on the switch that's faulty - sometimes doubleclicking is caused by dust and this might fix it.

@kamen I think most switches are sealed, but I can take a look. Thanks. Reminds me of blowing out the cartridges on the old NES.

Don't forget to install Logitech Gaming Software to edit dpi settings to your likings! I can always recommend that mouse.

Also just a little bit under the mouse wheel there is a "Wheel Turn Lock" button, when unlocked you simply scroll faster than NASA's internet.

My mouse was double clicking wheel (middle button). Apparently the hardware of the button is wear down.
So instead of closing one tab, I would close two.

I found a script that blocks second click for a second.

    It works like a charm.

Wired mice are superior anyways. Especially for gaming.

The mouse saga... So I had the mouse 2 weeks. Then it starts left double clicking on single click. I check all settings. I wonder if I am developing parkinsons. So I take it back to store for a replacement. Plug it in and ... it works fine. A little worried about quality now. Never had a logitech device fail on me that quickly.

Perhaps a driver issue? Try reinstalling the driver and try again if it double clicks. If it does, try to find the area of double click (usually at bottom right to the M1 key) that way you can prove that it has problems.

@melezorus34 I replaced mouse, problem disappeared. Same driver.
