I have been off of this platform since last 4-5 years, but going through old screenshots I found this rant by @uyouthe. I checked it on the Calculator on Windows 11. 5 FUCKING YEARS and this is still there.

I didn't even notice this by the time I used shindows, because I didn't expect as much from Microsoft as to make basic app without any dumb shortcomings that could be fixed in mere minutes, given that there was QA and anyone who could handle UWP shit. It's just one of those many examples to shit on Microsoft about.

I don't care about 2 pixels off I care about waiting for a fucking calculator to load. Old one instant, new one wait for it. Think that might be fixed now. But all those new UWA tools are basically worse than the original one.
Could have been an MVP issue. Don't use Windows for productivity anymore.

Just checked this (latest 11 Dev build, so up to date everything) and indeed the calculator is still sometimes like this; what's weird is that for some window sizes it's okay, for some it's not - and you can see this while resizing it. It's as if the two rows of operations are in a different containers from the digits underneath, which is still weird because they're supposed to be on the same grid still.

Who would use anything else than a python interpreter for basic math anyways.

Still better than the stock calculators from most Linux distros.

@cafecortado That is an unfair statement. You very well know, that it is forbidden by law to have an accessible and/or good looking GUI in a FOSS application.

@jonhyfun depends how you develop the app, now let's compare the uwp onenote to the new win32 one, or the uwp whiteboard to the new web tech based one... Enjoy all electron and web based apps 🤣🤣🤣
