joas18912yWithout any technology? That sounds hard, since everything that humans have made is basically technology.
I am mostly kidding, but where do you draw the line? -
joas18912y@Sid2006 Then I would spend time in the nature (obviously). Walking, biking, swimming, chilling. Make it a trip! I'd cook with fire. I don't know if I can carry enough food so I'd maybe have to plan it so that there's stops where I can get some more.

I attended a few multi-week live roleplaying games in my life. Not sure whether they still exist - but i guess doing some meatspace roleplay again would be the most fun way to approach it. Alternatively, a nice pen and paper fantasy roleplaying campaign would be fun too.
-
that's how i usually spend my vacation.
(well, almost. i usually have my camera with me.) -
Hazarth95302yeasy, I'd probably start hiking. Or something. Or I'd dedicate myself to cooking more, though I guess I would have to use open fire this time around?
really hard to say if I'm also forbidden from using a stove. What about gas stove? Or is that also considered too much of a technology? I can do a fire pit, but I use a lighter or Matches? I guess I do have flint and steel on my keychain, but can I use my keychain? Are things made using technology available to me? Is this more like "don't use your smartphones n stuff" or Is this more of "You're stranded and have nothing" kind of thing?
Dunno, could be fun eitherway. I can survive for 2 weeks as long as I find drinkable water, which is common in these parts -
NoMad136662yGod no! Done that in the past and it is really not as pleasant as people make it to be. Life without tech is very depressing and physically near-death. I'm okay with digital detox tho. (you just don't use your phone or laptop for a few days) But to go completely without tech? Many generations of scientists and inventors have sacrificed to give me all these niceties. I'm not gonna just go without things that make life better and easier, unless I absolutely have to!
-
NoMad136662yImagine not having elevators, lights at night, heater, cooler, fridge and freezer, a stove or oven... what are you gonna cook on? Fire? You cooking inside or outside? Where are you sending the invitation for mosquitoes or wolves? Have you seen the wild? (It's literally wild) and most importantly: are you really gonna deal with the level of bugs and lice that comes with not using a modern vacuum cleaner! Good luck!

NoMad136662y@Demolishun well, those work without electricity. Soap is technically not "tech" anymore. It's been around for literally thousands of years at this point. And squat toilets are tolerable. (Also have been around for thousands of years)

Oh fuck, I'll finally be able to read all the books I wanted to read. So long suckers! Those are going to be the best 2 weeks I've had in quite some time.
(I assume those two weeks I'm relieved of any work/study responsibilities since those require a PC) -
There are some ... Eh ... English translation most fitting would be hunter lodge... I think.
Nothing fancy / super sized, there are smaller ones with sleeping and housing for up to 10 people.
Pit latrine isn't the nicest thing, yes... But other then that, most of them have everything you need.
Stove for heating / cooking, full kitchen with necessary utils, buckets for manual water pump, etc.
I always loved it, because it ... Completely changes the day. Most of them are rather secluded, so you can focus on not being focused. :)
Zero availability.
If you're bored, you can go take a hike, read a book, prepare meals (cooking with a wooden stove requires bit more time :) and with 5-10 people more time to prep, too)… cut wood... Just lay down on a stone and let the sun roast your beer pack.
I loved these hunting lodges. In the evening, sitting together, playing some board games, just enjoying time together. -
If all the technology in the world vanished - total nature and naked human vibes. Shit would get violent but I would 100% survive. I have done it before. I love the feeling. I want that feeling. *Screeches and smashes something*
-
We3D26872ywill sharpen my survival skills in d woods with a few books, and if the weather is good you'll find me naked @ the beach
-
@Archive you'll be pumping water from a well manually if you don't have electric pumps. Or drinking straight from a spring or a river.
-
@Sid2006 your heart works with electricity, so I guess you can't use your heart if electricity is categorically out of question.
-
iiii90852y@electrineer if electromagnetic forces are void, then matter will cease to exist all together

In other news, a group of naked software developers started going into the wild to live technology free. When approached they started making grunting noises and speaking in a dialect of clicks and banging their fists on their heads.
Hey DevRanters,
You are tasked with living without tech in any shape or form (Lets say, for 2 weeks).
How you approaching it?
