devRant unofficial UWP v2 doesn't look bad on MS HoloLens, I guess. 😏

    Is that your house?

    @HoloDreamer nope

    It's a stock photo (unsplash.com) and it's all just a render, but it's based on real images I have of my app on HoloLens, so in real world it will look almost exactly like that. 😉

    *Wondering why I am here*
    Dad: you fell of the stairs while ranting about your fucked up code... and now you are fucked up son

    Welp, I know what I'm installing on the lab's Holo Lens when I get back...

    But you forgot to cut the upper and lower borders of thst rendered app, since the field you see Holos in is supposed to be very small.

    @LinusCDE what do you mean?

    This is the current version (v1.5.3.0) on HoloLens.

    @JS96 Yea but isn't that the whole sight your app is now displayed in? And if it would be portrait (like in your post) it wouldn't fit or you had to mave away a lot which would result in very tiny font.
    Not against you or MS HoloLens but I think the HoloLens in its current state isn't intended for thos kind of Apps/Holos.

    But hey, its a nice concept and your're probably faster than FB, Twitter etc. . 👍🏽

    @LinusCDE I didn't tested it personally but it doesn't seem to be too small to be used. The HoloLens works on almost your entire field of view.

    @JS96 Nice. I heard a lot of rumors that the FOV is very tine. But to my surprise it seems not bad at all.

    Almost your entire field of view? It felt tiny when I tried it. I'd say it covered around 25% of my field of view at most. Definitely a smaller viewing angle than a typical monitor display.

    Neat!

    Yeah, HoloLens definitely does not take up your whole field of view, only in their demo videos. When I tried it, I was hugely underwealmed with the tiny picture, awkward headset positioning (you have to get the angle to your eyes just right) and weak vividness of image.

    I am really curious about the MagicLeap performs, and if anyone here is willing to risk violating their NDA and tell us about it...

    ...we will all promise to let the information die right here...

    @gitpush you must be quite distracted to do that... this is AR not VR :)

    @JS96 any ETA for the 2.0 release? :P
  • 4
    @dontbeevil I hope September/October.
    Unfortunately I have a lot of exams in these months.

    @JS96 no worries, exams are not fun but you have to do it ... good luck!

    @dontbeevil ok, this feels awkward 😓
