@karwler I just looked Manjaro up, I'm brand new to Linux having installed my first distro (elementary os) this week, it looks great! Thanks for the intro.
-
Right now I'm mainly running openSuse(and a bit of Debian), it's one of the few that just work without funny errors. Fedora seems nice as well.
Especially on laptops a lot of distros fall apart over time in my experience. -
plusgut60377yA long time I favored arch, because it had the newest stuff. But I'm back now to debian, it just works without complications.
-
Linux438107yI started with SUSE 17 years ago, now I run Debian on my servers an a Debian based distro in my desktop (WMLive)
-
Kimmax111067yNonono. There are tons of distros for tons of use cases. One fits the requirement more than another.
Simple as that -
@Kimmax I guess that's why I asked this question. I'm interested in learning more about different use cases of the different distros, since I know so little about Linux.
-
Arch only because i love the bleeding edge software, rolling release model and the beautiful angel, usually known as, AUR
Mate desktop environment with that since it is pretty stable for me and yet configurable enuf for my thirst haha 😊
Honestly, i cant go to any other distro simply coz m too addicted to AUR... 😎 -
For now Fedora. Fast, easy to use, fucking love yum and SELinux build in for added security!
-
yugi9557yMint. Because i was there when Ubuntu switched from gnome to unity and i hated it. I just wanted to have everything is already installed kind of distro instead of get what you want on bare bones. So i picked mint. Also releases have female human names instead of weird animal names.

Give me your email address and i will send you e-book about linux distributions. And you can read benefits of each and unbiased comparison

@Electrux can't tell because I don't have a dedicated graphics card - don't need it really :). But lemme do a quick search!
-
@Electrux Appearantly bumblebee seems to support it well but don't kill me if it doesn't work anyways!
-
A custom Fedora install, I love the tools, selinux bundled, dnf is so cool ( @vedipen, @linuxxx ) and I love living on the edge,
@Electrux I have an Optimus system, I couldn't get it to work with Wayland (gnome 3) I have yet to try again with x11 (i3), but so far I've heard good reviews about bumblebee -
@danielstaleiny Thank you for the ebook! could you please send it to devstopco@gmail.com?
-
Manjaro. Anything that runs xfce4 is good but Manjaro gave the best overall look and feel and the polish was great.
-
@jpichardo i just laughed so much when i saw notifications. Bring ++ baby. I still did it for grater good. :)
