The biggest scam is the Carbon Footprint term. Something that was coined by a company that did (does?) PR for fucking Petroleum companies. It was a way of saying "Yeah, we're kinda bad for the environment as a company, but you as an individual could be so much worse! Accountability starts with you, the citizen. Get taxed nerd. We'll follow suit eventually, pinky promise!"

Then you have first world countries fighting to see who can marginally lower their emissions more for political brownie points all the while ignoring the other side of the world where India and China account for more emissions than every other country combined.

@nitnip when you look up "oil seeps" and realize that more oil is dumped into the ocean naturally annually than man has ever dumped into the ocean. Then when you also find out that there are life forms that live in the oceans that eat this crude. It kinda makes you realize there is a whole lotta bullshit going on with the demonization of oil. The big showcase the oil spill for the papers is so disingenuous.

I realize processing and burning products of oil is a different issue altogether.

@bioDan the activists that bother me are the ones allowing the decimation of rain forests to burn wood because it is "renewable". Nothing on this planet is truly renewable. At some point we are going to have to start digging up refuse dumps and recycling. Maybe by that time we will be harvesting asteroids and other planets. We do need to take better care of the planet. But being alarmist and making stupid "green" energy solutions is no solution at all.

Anybody climate conscious/activists cucksockers can start by killing themselves, thus reducing their consumption for 30-60+ years. Don't be surprised nobody else want to do the same

@ostream No. Their population density is not the reason for the magnitude of their emissions. They do not have regulations. China in particular, had low emissions only at the very height of their initial lockdown because no one was manning the plants and factories due to government enforced inactivity.
