    I use https://cyberghostvpn.com/en_US/
    But I don't know how secure it is :/

    @kurtr if you switch to opera it’s built-in, no hassle.

    Torvpn - Can custom order your data / servers as needed per month.

    Can be used to access Tor network if you need it too, setting is off by default though.

    Configure a raspberry pi to be an access point and make it use the onion router principle
    Probably the most secure thing

    @calmyourtities pretty sure opera sells their data cuz they are owned by a chinese company...

    Build your own with rasp pi

    I rent a linode and have OpenSSL vpn installed I use it mainly for security rather than trying to hide my activity, its costs me 5$ a month.

    @C0D4 interesting.
    Hmm, they have an interesting point of view on logging, but seems transparent about it.

    My first thought when I read tor +vpn was, "oh a easy hide, for torshammer slammers"

    @lotd
    A bit of a trade off really.

    “We don’t log everything but only some stuff we have too for our services”

    it’s cheap, somewhat transparent and gets around geo blocked services.

    @kurtr ditto on using Tor for browsing but for torrents please stay away from the tor network. For me: at home privoxy & tor as transparent proxy, outside we connect to our home network using ssh then tunnel to privoxy & tor. You can use oopenvpn as an alternative to ssh tunnels. For torrents how about seedboxes? I don't know any though

    @busuu NordVPN or PrivateInternetAccess I'd say :)
  • 0
    @wholl0p Got the lifetime deal as well? 😆
  • 2
    @busuu The free ones sell your data mostly so then you're pretty much fucked anyways!

    @jAsE
    I find using a VPN on my shit adsl2 is usually faster then without 😞

    Fucking throttling pieces of ISP shitcakes.

    @C0D4 Yep, at home I use sesvensktv.com just to get access to the same content as everyone else (in Sweden), as I (geotechncally) live abroad. It's slower on requests, e.g. web sites with many references to CSS and JS load so slowly they sometimes even timeout. Streaming video is where VPN is strong, it actually sometimes outperforms no VPN, just like you too have noticed. One major disadvantage with VPN is that my IP is not static so I need to switch VPN off, for example when working with remote databases. But that's just three clicks away.

    I'd recommend i2p for torrenting but the trackers (only used postman) are limited content wise.

    Opera vpn ! Jk it's insecure as fuck.. and @linuxxx would kill me for saying that.
  • 1
    There's a Linux distro from TOR which has TOR on OS level
  • 1
    So many of the VPNs people are suggesting will not work for torrenting. For torrents you need a SOCKS5 proxy and Opera, Tunnel Bear, Tor, etc won’t work

    Openvpn ftw.

    @jAsE even if they have an Australia server?

    @Pgdevpatryk screw TunnelBear, they cheat on the amount of Mbytes that you're using

    I've been using windscribe since you can get 50gb free per month. Not too sure how secure it is.

    NordVPN if willing to pay, else OpenVPN FOREVER!!!

    I use Windscribe, I love it and it has good features that other VPN do not. Like built in firewall or secure links and many others. Take a look, you can try it for free.

    https://windscribe.com//...
    (that's an affiliate link, I get half of what you spend but you can try it for free as I said. And I also really like this VPN, been using for almost 2 years now)
