All respect to android (love the system (no, that doesn't mean that I love google)) and also to awesome custom roms (hell even some vendors make quite good ones imo!).

BUT WHO THE FUCKING HELL THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO LIMIT THE AMOUNT OF ALARMS YOU CAN HAVE TO 15 OR EVEN LIMIT IT AT ALL?!?
I HAVE TO GET UP AT 3:30 FOR WORK EACH NIGHT AND THIS IS *NOT* HELPING.

THE PERSON WHO THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA CAN TAKE A PHONE, OPEN THAT DEFAULT CLOCK APP AND SHOVE IT UP HIS FUCKING ASS.

    If you need to wake up at that insane hour I suggest switching a job.

    I live with 1 alarm for years. Always setting its time again and again

    @AlexDeLarge I just did to check if I had a limit xD then after 60 I remember I had to switch them all off again and gave up.

    @clovisIrex This is the job I need to survive. Searching for linux sysadmin work but nothing yet :/

    @linuxxx
    What do you do?

    "how much storage does a signle alarm consume?"

    "let me see .. 4 bytes for hrs, 4 for mins, 4 for day of week, and 2 bools to keep track of on/off and due or not .. with headers etc. that's 30 bytes or so"

    "whaaat, WHY?! all we need is
    5 bits for the hours
    6 bits for the minutes
    3 bits for days of week
    1 bit for enabled/disabled
    1 bit for due or not
    5+6+3+1+1=16 bits = 2 bytes per alarm"

    "emm ..errr .. but u know we're limiting it to .. mm .. 15 alarms max, so it'll never get too big"

    "oh right, didn't know that, let's get a build out and go home"

    🚬🍻

    Try timely. I had 17 at last count and i think could still add more. And i don't think i had to create an account like some of the other 3rd party apps (optional if you want to sync)
  • 4
    @AlexDeLarge @MisterArie actually I do that. I have alarms at 15 minutes intervals set from 6am to 6pm.

    I usually just turn on the ones I need ;)

    Fun fact you can also download the official alarm/clock app from the Google play store from Google ;) I replace most custom vendor apps with official ones when possible.

    There are some alarm apps that make you do something before turning off. Like some basic math or mini game. You need to let it know that you're truly awake. I search for "puzzle alarm" on Play and download any one whenever I know I'll have to wake up after a rough night. Then I uninstall them because they're usually ad riden.

    @linuxxx

    EMUI? I have a phone like what you described, and that alarm stunt sounds like the kind of nonsense you would see in EMUI, along with a custom alarm clock app like morning routine being unable to access notifications.
  • 2
    @bahua Nope but gotta say I love that UI!

    @linuxxx is it a Vernee?
